IT-SOA

IT-SOA: Nowe technologie informacyjne dla elektronicznej gospodarki i społeczeństwa infromacyjnego oparte na paradygmacie SOA"ITSOA - New information technologies for electronic economy and information society based on service-oriented architecture"

The goal of the project is to exploit modern information technologies from the area of distributed systems. Such techologies, based on the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) paradigm, support computerized business process management as well as development of service platforms and IT infrastructure for e-Science. The central point of this approach is to automatize access to both individual services and complex business processes based on these services. Key challenges in this scope include: development of proper service description languages; enabling providers to publish their services and clients to search for the services they require; creation of semantics-based protocols for service composition in the framework of complex and potentially long-running business processes.

Research regarding Virtual Organizations

A main contribution of DIT to the virtual organizations section of the ITSOA project is the development of the ErGo platform. The ErGo platform consists of a set of tools and methods supporting the creation and cooperation of organizations within the context of a SOVOBE. Theoretical work conducted in the area of virtual organizations is the sound base of the ErGo platform.

Based on the ErGo platform, an application tailored to the needs of the construction sector is under development. The main purpose of this application is the management of the cooperation of a real-estate developer with its subcontractors in a VO-based approach. The development of this application is realized in cooperation with the real-estate developer company TRUST S.A.

Research regarding e-governance

A contribution of DIT to the e-governance section of the ITSOA project is the development of the PEOPA platform. The PEOPA platform is based on the results of theoretical work conducted in the area of e-governance. It consists of a set of tools and methods for designing and executing administrative procedures and transactions. The main components are: Integrated Designing Environment and Execution Server. The Integrated Designing Environment is meant for creating models of administrative procedures and transactions according to the approach based on hierarchical nature of legislative system. Execution Server is responsible for dynamic adaptation of procedures and transactions courses to the legal aspects appearing during their execution.

The current activities in the ITSOA project focus at tailoring the PEOPA platform to the needs and requirements of administrative procedures and transactions in a construction sector. The work is meant to include the broad range of matters in this sector: single houses, large housing projects, commercial and industrial estates, roads and freeways, conservation sites, etc.

Cooperation with Public Administration Agencies and Offices

DIT’s partners within the area of e-governance, especially in the e-governance part of ITSOA project, are the City Hall of Poznan and the Building Supervision Inspectorate for the City of Poznan. The main results of joint projects are the following:

  • Models of business processes for construction investments have been created;
  • Models of administrative procedures and transactions for construction investments have been created;
  • A new organizational model for the Poznan City Hall has been proposed;
  • A detailed architecture of the e-Governance System handling the process approach to citizen services has been developed.

The current cooperation activities with the partners concern evaluation of the DIT’s research concepts: the hierarchical approach to administrative transactions modeling and the dynamic adaptation of their courses to the legal aspects appearing during their executions. The future plans include deploying the PEOPA platform in partners’ facilities.
