Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a working session of the Council for Informatization of Education, an advisory body to Minister of National Education. Prof. Cellary serves as a member of the Council since 2012.

Jarogniew Rykowski, PhD, attended The 8th Annual IEEE International Conference on RFID Technology and Applications RFID-TA 2017, which took place in Warsaw, September 20 - 22, 2017. During a plenary session Jarogniew Rykowski presented an invited lecture entitled "Is radio-based identification trusted?". During a working session Applications and Software he presented a paper entitled „Multi-dimensional identification of things, places and humans”.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended a conference The 5th International Conference on Human Side of Service Engineering HSSE 2017, organised within the framework of The 8th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics AHFE 2017, which took place in Los Angeles (CA, USA), July 17 - 21, 2017. Prof. Wojciech Cellary served as a Program Co-Chair of the HSSE Conference. During a session entitled "Shaping the Human Side of T-Shaped Professionals II" he presented a paper „E-business as an example of T-shape education” (authors: Cellary, W., and J. Rykowski). Prof. Cellary co-chaired a closing session during which HSSE Best Paper Awards were presented.

The Department of Information Technology hosted The 26th IEEE International Conference on Enabling Technologies: Infrastructure for Collaborative Enterprises WETICE 2017, which was an international forum for state-of-the-art research in enabling technologies for collaboration. Krzysztof Walczak, Ph.D., and Jakub Flotyński, Ph. D., attended The 22nd International Conference on 3D Web Technology Web3D 2017 hosted by The University of Queensland, Brisbane (Australia), June 5 – 7, 2017. Jakub Flotyński served as a Program Co-Chair of the Web3D Conference. During the conference Krzysztof Walczak presented a paper entitled “Semantic Model for Distributed Augmented Reality Services” (authors: Walczak, K., and D. Rumiński). He chaired also a session „Transmission and streaming of 3D content”. Jakub Flotyński presented a paper “Knowledge-based Representation of 3D Content Behavior in a Service-Oriented Virtual Environment” (authors: Flotyński, J., and K. Walczak), he chaired a session „Web-based 3D environments and systems”. Krzysztof Walczak and Jakub Flotyński participated also in Virtual Reality Hackathon which took place in Brisbane June 2 – 4, 2017. Next year Web3D Conference will be hosted by Poznan University of Economics and Business. Krzysztof Walczak will serve as a General Chair of the conference.
