March 20 - 22, 2014

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended a Congress of Academic Culture "The Idea of University: Reactivation", organized by Jagiellonian University in Kraków from March 20 to March 22, 2014, under the honorary patronage of the Polish minister of science and higher education. Prof. Cellary gave an introducing lecture "University in the World without order" during a panel discussion "University vs. new media and technologies".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary received a Medal for Merit to the Poznan University of Economics conferred by Chapter of the Medal to persons and organizations for distinguished contributions to PUE activities and development. The Medal was given by the Rector during a gala ending VI Poznań University of Economics Days.

February 20 - 21, 2014

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended a CHIST-ERA evaluation panel which took place on February 20 and 21, 2014 in Paris at Agence Nationale de Recherche premises. Prof. Cellary served as an independent expert evaluating proposals submitted to the Call 2013.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak has been invited to join a ministerial expert group for the development of IT infrastructure for research, an advisory body to the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak participated in an international conference VISIONAIR Open Forum 2014, which took place in Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center. Prof. Krzysztof Walczak represented both the Poznań University of Economics and EuroVR Association.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary visited an international electronic fair Integrated Systems Europe ISE 2014, the world’s best-attended tradeshow for the professional AV and electronic systems industry, which took place in Amsterdam, February 4 - 6, 2014. Prof. Cellary served as an expert for Samsung Electronics Polska team.

Results of the 15th edition of the Golden Mouse Contest announced! The contest was addressed to the 1st year students of the Faculty of Informatics and Electronic Economy. The purpose of the contest was to reward the best business project that promotes use of new Internet and mobile technologies in the business process chain. The main criteria of the evaluation were: business model, use of new technologies for organization and management transformation, quality of design. The prizes were founded by Bank Zachodni WBK S.A., the main sponsor of the contest. The results were announced during the reward ceremony conducted by Prof. Wojciech Cellary, in the presence of the representative of sponsors, and the PUE autorities: Rector, prof. Marian Gorynia, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations, prof. Maciej Żukowsji, and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Electronic Economy, prof. Dorota Appenzeller. The First Prize went to the team Edyta Waniewska and Katarzyna Wronierska for a project Your Room.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak, participated in a regional conference „New Perspective for Research and Innovation 2014 – 2020”, starting a new EU Program HORIZON 2020 in Wielkopolska region. The conference, organized by The EU Framework Programmes Regional Conctact Point and Poznan Science and Technology Parc, was hosted by three biggest Poznan universities: Adam Mickiewicz Universty, The Poznan University of Economics and Poznań University of Technology.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a two days international meeting Horizon 2020 Workshop, which was held at the University of Koblenz-Landau (Germany) on December 12 -13, 2013. Prof. Cellary was invited to attend the workshop by Prof. Dr. Maria Wimmer from Institut für Wirtschafts- und Verwaltungsinformatik (IWVI), Faculty of Computer Science, University of Koblenz-Landau. The aim of the workshop was to find a consortium and to draft an EU project proposal for Horizon 2020 around the topic "mobile participation".

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak attended an international conference The 5th Joint Virtual Reality Conference JVRC 2013, which was held in Paris on December 11 – 13, 2013. During the conference prof. Krzysztof Walczak presented a paper entitled „Semantic Modelling of Interactive 3D Content” (authors: Flotyński, J., K. Walczak). On December 12th, 2013 Prof. Walczak participated also at the General Assembly ordinary session of the EuroVR Association, a non-profit, scientific and industrial European association that was founded to continue and expand the work initiated by the INTUITION Network of Excellence (EC FP6 NoE) as a self-sustainable, independent organization to support the virtual and augmented reality communities. Prof. Walczak is a member of the Executive Board of the EuroVR Association.
