October 16th, 2013

Mr. Zbigniew Paszkiewicz participated in a seminar entitled "Expanding innovations by joining strengths Japanese-Polish Science and Technology Seminar", organized by Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tokyo and Embassy of Japan in Warsaw. The seminar took place at The National Graduate Institute of Policy Studies in Tokyo. The aim of the seminar was to give the participants a more comprehensive understanding of possibilities of boosting S&T cooperation between the two countries. Mr. Paszkiewicz was invited to participate at the seminar - as a young promising researcher - by the Polish National Centre for Research and Development. During the seminar Mr. Paszkiewicz gave a presentation entitled “Analysis of collaborative processes through process mining and social network analysis”.

September 30 - October 2, 2013

Dr. Willy Picard attended The 14th IFIP Working Conference on Virtual Enterprises PRO-VE 2013, which took place in Dresden (Germany) from September 30 to October 2, 2013. Dr. Picard served as a Tutorials Chair, and as a Programme and Steering Committee member. He presented also a paper entitled “Simulating the Influence of Collaborative Networks on the Structure of Networks of Organizations, Employment Structure, and Organization Value”.

September 25 - 26, 2013

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended The 35th International Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners Conference, which took place in Warsaw from September 23 to September 26, 2013. The conference consists of two events: a Closed Session (only for commissioners) and an Open Session, which consists of two days of meetings, both in plenary and break out sessions. Prof. Cellary served as a Program Committee member of the conference, he also chaired III Session entitled "Privacy and Technology". He gave an introducing lecture "Privacy in Light of Future IT Technologies”. In the panel discussion participated also: Julie Brill, (Commissioner of Federal Trade Commission, USA), Billy Hawkes (Irish Data Protection Commissioner), David Hoffman (Director of Security Policy and Global Privacy Officer at Intel Corporation, USA)and Christina Peters (Chief Privacy Officer, IBM Corporation, USA).

Dr. Michał Wódczak participated in an international conference The 6th International Conference on Dependability and Complex Systems DepCoS-RELCOMEX 2013, which took place in Brunow near Lwowek (Poland), from September 10 to September 13, 2013. Dr. Wódczak presented a paper entitled „Dependability Aspects of Autonomic Cooperative Computing Systems”.

September 8 - 11, 2013

Mr. Jakub Flotyński participated in an international conference Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems FCCSIS 2013, which took place in Cracow from September 8 to September 11, 2013. During the conference Mr. Flotyński presented two papers: "Microformat and Microdata Schemas for Interactive 3D Web Content” (authors: J. Flotyński, and K. Walczak), and “Semantic Multi-layered Design of Interactive 3D Presentations” (authors: J. Flotyński, and K. Walczak).

September 5 - 6, 2013

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak participated as an independent expert of European Commission in a review for the monitoring of the implementation of indirect actions in an European Project FINE. The meeting took place in Brussels.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended a conference The 29th National Symposium on Telecommunications and Computer Communications “Time for Smart Cities”, which took place in Gdańsk from 4 to 6 September, 2013. Prof. Cellary served as a panelist in a panel discussion “How to create smart cities in Poland?”

Dr. Wojciech Wiza participated in a working meeting of the partners of the European project "Ed2.0Work - European network for the integration of Web2.0 in education and work (KA3 network)". The meeting was hosted by a leader of the Project, University of the West of Scotland, Paisley (Scotland).

August 1, 2013

Dr. Michał Wódczak attended a closed meeting on Autonomic Networking, taking place the 1st August 2013, in Berlin (Germany), in co-location with the 87th IETF Meeting. The goal of the meeting was to discuss how to bring Autonomic Networking into the IETF, and how to link the efforts of the ETSI AFI working group to the IETF.

July 3 - 5, 2013

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated at the Expert Group Meeting entitled Governance, Public Administration and Information Technology for Post 2015 Development, which took place in Geneva from 3 to 5 July 2013. The meeting was organized by United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the Center for Electronic Governance at United Nations University International Institute for Software Technology (UNU-IIST). During the meeting prof. Cellary gave a lecture entitled “Building IT Infrastructure for Post-2015 e-Governance Development: Cloud Computing and Service-Oriented Architecture”.
