Willy Picard, PhD, participated in The 13th IFIP Working Conference on Virtual Enterprises PRO-VE 2012, which took place in Bournemouth (UK) from October 1 to October 3, 2012. Dr. Picard was involved in the ogranization of the conference as a member of Stearing Committee, Programme Committee and Pannel's Co-Chair. During a session "Identification of Patterns" Dr. Picard presented a paper entitled "Extracting the Dynamic Popularity of Concepts from a Corpus of Short-Sentence Documents", he chaired also a session "e-Governance".

Mr. Zbigniew Paszkiewicz participated in The 16th East-European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems ADBIS, hosted by Poznan University of Technology in Poznan, Poland. During the session ADBIS PhD Consortium Mr. Paszkiewicz presented a paper entitled "Computer Supported Collaborative Processes in Virtual Organizations".

Mr. Daniel Wilusz presented a paper entitled ”Application of NXT Based Robots for Teaching Java-based Concurrency” (authors: Szweda, Ł., D. Wilusz, and J. Flotyński).

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak, participated as an independent expert of the European Commission in a review for the monitoring of the implementation of indirect actions of the European project CONVERGENCE, realized in the framwork of the program European Research, Technological Development and Demonstration Activities. The session took place in Rome.

Cellary gave a lecture entitled “Challenges of Borderless eGovernment Services for Europeans".

The Department of Information Technology hosted Prof. Narcyz Roztocki from State University of New York (School of Business), New Paltz, NY (USA). Prof. Roztocki gave an open lecture entitled "Information Technology in Transition Economies: Current Research Trends and Future Opportunities".
