Dr. Wojciech Wiza participated in a working meeting of the partners of the European project "Ed2.0Work – European Network for the integration of Web2.0 in education and work" realized by the DIT in the framework of consortium of 12 research institutions from 9 European countries. The meeting was hosted by University of Barcelona, Spain.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary has been a guest of International Institute for Software Technology of the United Nations University, Macao (China). During his stay he gave two invited lectures for researchers and PhD students: “Software Research Towards Future eGovernment” and “How to Write a Methodologically Proper PhD Thesis”. He gave also an invited lecture entitled „Privacy in Light of Future Information Technologies” to the representatives of Macao Government as part of the e-Macao Seminar series, open to all UNU-IIST fellows and staff. Other aims of the visit were: offering a research seminar in UNU-IIST. listening to the research presentations by the members of the EGOV team and providing comments, carrying out a review of the Executive Master Program in Government Information Leadership, joinly developing a framework paper for the HICSS mini-track on EGOV Education, Training and Professionalization, and discussing collaboration.

Jacek Chmielewski, PhD, received a grant from European Commission covering costs of participation in the ICT Proposers' Day 2012 which will take place in Warsaw, September 26 - 27, 2012. The event is organized by the Information Society and Media Directorate-General of the EC, in cooperation with the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Polish National Contact Point. During the conference a  new Information and Communication Technologies Work Programme for 2013 will be presented.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day celebration which took place in Warsaw. He participated in two events: a close meeting of Government and Parliament members with ICT business and research representatives, and in a World Telecommunication and Information Society Day Gala. During the gala the  InfoStar prizes for exceptional achievements in building information society in Poland were awarded. Prof. Cellary is a laureate of InfoStar 2008.

Jacek Chmielewski, PhD, has successfully completed the 8 weeks W3C DEV CAMPUS online course "Mobile Web 1: Best Practices". The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international organization developing protocols and quidelines of the Web.

The ABB Group has annouced the results of the 1st ABB Software Research Grant Program. Over 65 applications from all the world have been submitted to the contest. After two rounds evaluation process only three projects were selected. Among three winning proposals is a project submitted by Jacek Chmielewski, PhD, entitled „Ubiquitous mobile user interfaces for industrial monitoring and control applications UbiqUI”. The winner receives 50 K USD grant for research combined with industrial application.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended as an invited panelist an international conference The 5th Bahrain International eGovernment Forum BIEF 2012, which took place in Manama, the Kingdom of Bahrain under the patronage of H. H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chaiman of the Supreme Committee of ITC in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Prof. Cellary presented a lecture entitled „Privacy in the light of Future of IT Technologies” in the framework of the Cyber Law and Public Private Partnership Workshop joined with the main conference.
