The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. December 11, 2013

On December 11th, 2013, Willy Picard, PhD habil., participated in the defence of the doctoral dissertation entitled "Towards Bridging the Gap Between Representation and Formalism in the Context of Systems Life Cycle Management Processes", presented by Eric Simon at the Institut du Management de l'Information, Université de Neuchâtel on December 11th 2013. Dr. habil. Willy Picard served as an external reviewer of this dissertation. Congratulations to Dr. Eric Simon for his PhD. degree obtained with the mention "Très bien".

December 2 - 4, 2013

Dr. Jacek Chmielewski participated in an international conference The 11th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia MoMM 2013, in the framework of The 15th International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services IIWAS 2013, which took place in Vienna (Austria). During the conference Dr. Chmielewski presented a paper entitled “Web-safe Fonts for Device-independent Mobile Web Applications”.

November 24 - 29, 2013

Mr. Zbigniew Paszkiewicz participated in a seminar entitled "Unleashing Operational Process Mining", organized by Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz Center for Informatics in Wadern (Germany) from November 24 to November 29, 2013. The seminar was devoted to the the current challenges in process mining.

The Council of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management of the Wrocław University of Technology awarded Willy Picard, PhD, a Habilitation degree in Computer Science. During the habilitation colloquim, he presented his research results published in his Habilitation monography entitled "Adaptation of Service Protocols", followed by an ending lecture entitled "Centrality in Social Networks".

November 14 - 15, 2013

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in an international conference The 7th eGovernment Conference „Where We are, Where We are Going”, which was held on the 14 – 15 November 2013 in Vilnius (Lithuania). The conference was organized by the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania and Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems VINNOVA in the framework of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Prof. Cellary was invited by VINNOVA as the Program Chair of the 6th European Ministerial eGovernment Conference and Exhibition “Borderless eGovernment Services for Europeans”(Poznan, Poland, November 17-18, 2011), which was a major European event in the area of e-government during the Polish Presidency. During the 7th eGovernment Conference prof. Cellary chaired a panel discussion „How to Advance Cross-Border Services?”, he also presented an invited speech „Multimedia Intermediaries for Cross-Border eGovernment Services”.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a national conference "e-Administration for Business", which took place in Poznan on November 6 - 8, 2013. Prof. Cellary served as a member of Programme Committee, he also participated in a panel dicsussion "Does Polish business need e-Administration?". The conference was organized by Institute of Logistics and Warehousing in Poznan, Ministry of Economy, and Ministry of Administration and Digitization of Poland.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak and Dr. Wojciech Wiza participated in an international conference The 4th E-nnovation Conference - More than Experience, which took place in Poznan, October 24 - 25, 2013. The conference was organized by Allegro Group and the city of Poznan.

Dr. Michał Wódczak participated in a working meeting of the Industry Specification Group „Autonomic network engineering for the self-managing Future Internet” AFI of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute ETSI. The meeting was held on 24 – 25 October in ETSI premises in Sophia Antipolis (France). During the meeting Dr. Wódczak presented the progress of the work achieved on the AFI Work Item #3 (DGS/AFI-0003-4) entitled "Instantiation of the Reference Model onto Autonomicity-enabled Wireless Ad-Hoc/Mesh/Sensor Network Reference Architecture(s)".

October 22 - 25, 2013

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 7th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance „Beyond 2015 – Smart Governance, Smart Development” ICEGOV 2013, which took place in Seoul (South Korea) from October 22 to October 25, 2013. Prof. Cellary attended the ICEGOV as a member of Steering Committee and member of Programme Committee. He co-chaired a 3-day Track entitled „Smart Governance for Smart Industries”. Prof. Cellary gave an introducing lecture entitled „Smart Governance for Smart Industries”, he served also as a moderator of panel discussion „Is a common set of e-Government principles, applicable to all countries and contexts, possible?”.

October 23 - 24, 2013

Dr. Adam Wojtowicz paticipated in a conference „CommonSign Warsaw 2013” – Electronic Signature Interoperability Summit, which took place in Warsaw on 23 and 24 October 2013. During the conference Dr. Wójtowicz gave an invited lecture entitled “Authentication in the New World of Mobile Devices". He participated also in a panel discussion "Implementing Electronic Signature as a Tool of Nation-Wide Use - Why Does It Take So Long?".
