December 13th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 1st International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance ICEGOV 2007, which took place in Macau (China) during December 10-13, 2007. Prof. Cellary had a 3-hours invited tutorial entitled Economics for Electronic Governance. His lecture focused on virtual organizations and labor market in e-economy. December 5th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a national conference INFO-FESTIVAL 2007 Good Practice in e-Administration. Prof. Cellary chaired the conference, he gave also an inauguration lecture on Global Society in rural area and small cities.

December 4th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary gave an invited lecture on Global Information Society in the framework of Open Lectures Program of the Questions of Boundaries Research Group of The Adam Mickiewicz University.

November 29th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 8th Congress of Polish Economists which took place in Warsaw from November 29th to November 30th, 2007. Prof. Cellary participated in a panel discussion, he published also in conference proceedings a paper entitled Business, Administration and Global Society - Three Challenges of Electronic Economy. The proceedings were published on CD.

November 29th, 2007 Dr. Jarogniew Rykowski gave a seminar at the Department of Computer Science of AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. The seminar entitled Agent Computing Environment ACE followed a discussion on agent technology applications.

November 27th, 2007 Dr. Krzysztof Walczak participated in the Annual Review of the European project INTUITION. The meeting took place in Athens from November 27th to November 30th, 2007. The review was successful for INTUITION, specially for Working Group 2.7 Culture and Entertainment, leaded by Dr. Walczak.

November 26th, 2007 Dr. Wojciech Wiza participated in The 8th International Symposium on Virtual Reality, Archaeology and Cultural Heritage VAST 2007, which took place in Brighton UK) from November 26th to November 30th, 2007. Dr Wiza presented a paper entitled Designing Behaviour-rich Interactive Virtual Museum Exhibitions (authors: Krzysztof Walczak, Wojciech Wiza).

November 21st, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a national conference e-Polish Philology which took place in Lublin from November 21st to November 22nd, 2007. Prof. Cellary chaired a session and gave an invited lecture New Trends in Education. The conference was transmitted on-line by Mobile and Interactive TV.

November 17th, 2007 Dr. Wojciech Wiza, Jacek Chmielewski and Rafal Wojciechowski participated in a full day event Innovation for all, organized by the Marshal's Office of the Wielkopolska Region in the framework of Wielkopolska Innovation Week. During the event they presented an ARCO technology enabling virtual exhibitions creation.

November 15th, 2007 Dr. Krzysztof Walczak received from the Rector of the Poznan University of Economics an individual award for achievements in research, specifically for numerous scientific papers in English, published in international journals recognized by ISI Master Journal List.

November 9th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary gave an inauguration lecture on Global Information Society for postgraduate students of the Jagiellonian University of Cracow.

November 8th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a plenary session of The "Poland 2000 Plus" Forecast Committee, a Task Force of the Presidium of The Polish Academy of Sciences.

November 7th, 2007 Dr. Krzysztof Walczak participated in the 7th MIMOS Annual Technical-Scientific Conference organized by The National Association on Modelling and Simulation (Italy). The conference was held in Rome from November 6th to November 8th, 2007. Dr. Krzysztof Walczak gave a lecture Virtual Reality Applications in the Cultural Heritage Sector.

October 26th, 2007 Dr Willy Picard and Mr. Zbigniew Paszkiewicz participated in the JADE Meeting Poland - Poznan 2007, which took place in Poznan on October 26th, 2007. The meeting was hosted by The Poznan University of Economics. Dr Picard gave an inauguration lecture Professional Virtual Communities. October 26th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary has been elevated to the grade of Senior Member in The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

October 25th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a session of the Scientific Council of GET (Groupe des Ecoles des Télécommuniactions) which took place in Paris, October 25th, 2007.

October 25th, 2007 Dr Sergiusz Strykowski gave a lecture Innovation in IT Projects during the 9th SIRMA Training organized by the Cities on Internet Association in Warsaw on October 25th, 2007.

October 24th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a plenary session of The "Poland 2000 Plus" Forecast Committee, a Task Force of the Presidium of The Polish Academy of Sciences. The main subject of the session was Globalization Processes and Third World Countries.

October 17th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 9th Forum on Informatics in Administration, which took place in Miedzeszyn near Warsaw from October 17th to October 18th, 2007. Prof. Cellary chaired the conference, he presented also an inauguration lecture Information Management instead of Document Management.

October 12th, 2007 Dr Wojciech Wiza participated in The 10th Poznan Science and Arts Festival 2007 which was held from October 10th to October 13th, 2007. Dr Wiza gave a speech on Virtual Reality.

October 10th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 7th IFIP International Conference on e-Business, e-Services and e-Society i3E 2007 which took place in Wuhan (China) from October 10th to October 12th, 2007. During the conference Prof. Cellary presented a keynote speech Challenges of Virtual Enterprise Management, he participated also in a special session Social Aspect of Item Tracking: Data Exchange Between Enterprises and Administrative Departments. Prof. Cellary co-chaired an Annual Meeting of The IFIP Working Group 6.11. on Electronic Commerce - Communication Systems.

October 5th, 2007 Dr. Krzysztof Walczak participated in a series of events organised by the INTUITION Network of Excellence. The INTUITION week included: the INTUITION Annual General Assembly, the 4th INTUITION Conference on Virtual Reality and Virtual Environment, and numerous Working Groups meetings. The events were hosted by I-SENSE Research Groups of the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the National Technical University in Athens, from October 1st to October 5th, 2007. During the Annual General Assembly Dr. Krzysztof Walczak presented a keynote speech entitled "Dynamic Virtual and Mixed Reality Applications", he also chaired the WG meeting of WG2.7 Entertainment and Culture, and a cross-WG meeting. Dr. Walczak chaired a special session on "Culture and Entertainment" at the 4th INTUITION Conference.

September 27th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary received The Marek Car Award! During the 13th Teleinformation Forum which took place in Legionowo from September 26 to September 27, 2007, the Prize "for exemplary attainments within the global information society", with particular consideration of its efficiency and positive result of utilisation of new technologies in the widely conceived public sector was awarded to Prof. Wojciech Cellary. The Marek Car Award, commemorating one of the founders and the chairman of the Program Board of the Teleinformation Forum, who tragically died in 1997, is presented each year during the Forum Assembly. The aim of the prize is to honour the achievements in implementation on new technologies, with special consideration given to the social aspects of the activities of the Laureate. September 26th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a working session of The Committee on Informatics of The Polish Academy of Science.

September 21st, 2007 Dr Jarogniew Rykowski has been invited to visit Telcordia Technologies Inc, a leading American communications company, based in New Jersey (USA). During the visit lasting from September 12th to September 21st, 2007, Dr Rykowski participated in Telcordia research activities in the field on mobile computer networks. Telcordia's and DIT's research teams prepared two joint research proposals: first, in the framework of Technological Initiative Programme launched by The Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the second one in the framework of the 7FP.

September 18th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a session of The Poland 2000 Plus Forecast Committee at The Presidium of The Polish Academy of Science. The Committee looks to inspire and coordinate futures studies, focusing on possible directions of Poland's social, economic and technological development. It produces multi-variant and interdisciplinary development scenarios and relevant strategy projects. The Committee acts as the National Committee for Cooperation with the World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF). During the session prof. Wojciech Cellary was elected a member of the Presidium of the Committee.

September 10th, 2007 Dr Willy Picard participated in The 8th IFIP Working Conference on Virtual Entreprises PRO-VE 2007, which was held in Guimaraes (Portugal) from September 10th to September 12th, 2007. Dr Picard served as a member of the Organizing Committee, he presented also two papers: Professional Virtual Community Inheritance Based on the Adaptation of Social Protocols and Suport for Power in Adaptation of Social Protocols for Professional Virtual Communities. September 8th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the Datamatix GITEX Conference 2007, which was held in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), from September 8th to September 12th, 2007. September 7th, 2007 Dr Jarogniew Rykowski participated in The 3rd International Conference on Industrial Applications of Holonic and Multi-Agent Systems - HoloMAS 2007, in conjunction with The 18th International Conference on Database and Expert Systems Applications DEXA 2007, which took place in Regensburg (Germany) from September 3rd, 2007 to September 7th, 2007. Dr Rykowski presented a paper Smart Caching Algorithm for Software Agents Based on Re-execution Probability.

July 9th, 2007 Mr. Grzegorz Wojciechowski participated in the 11th International Conference on Human Aspects in Advanced Manufacturing and Hybrid Automation HAAMHA 2007 which was held in Poznan from July 9 to July 12, 2007. Grzegorz Wojciechowski presented a paper entitled A study of the Ergonomics of ERP System (authors: Lis, K., M. Kaczmarek, W. Picard, G. Wojciechowski).

June 28th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 11th National Conference Cities in the Internet which was held in Zakopane from June 27th to June 29th, 2007. June 27th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the CISCO European and Emerging Market Analyst Conference which was held in London from June 27th to June 28th, 2007. Prof Cellary was invited to serve as a guest speaker during a session Delivering the SMB Experience. Prof. Cellary gave a speech entitled Cisco iExec in Poland.

June 25th, 2007 Dr Krzysztof Walczak attended an evaluation hearing relating to the proposal submitted to Call FP7-ICT-2007-1 by a consortium of 10 partners, among other the Department of Information Technology. The proposal entitled i3D - Interactive & Intelligent 3D Content for TV, Web, and Online-Communities passed successfully the first stage of the evaluation. The representatives of the consortium were invited to attend hearings with the independent experts assisting the European Commission. The meeting took place in Luxembourg.

June 21st, 2007 Dr Krzysztof Walczak participated as an independent expert of the European Commission in a working session evaluating projects submitted to the 7 FP.

June 21st, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The Virtual University Conference which took place in Warsaw from June 20th to June 23rd, 2007. Prof. Cellary served as a panelist in a discussion on e-Upbringing in e-Learninh Systems. He chaired also a workshop e-Learning Dictionary.

June 10th, 2007 Dr Krzysztof Walczak, Dr Wojciech Wiza and Mr Rafal Wojciechowski participated in the 1st Historic Picnic of the Museum of the Polish History in Warsaw. The full day cultural event gathered about 30 Polish museums presenting their educational and publishing offer, interactive games for visitors etc. DIT's team has developed and customized for the Museum of the Polish History an ARCO technology enabling virtual exhibitions creation. May 30th, 2007 The Department of Information Technology hosted Prof. Arthur Tatnall (Graduate School of Business, Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia). Prof. Tatnall gave a lecture entitled Innovation and Technological Change as a Focus for Information Systems Research in the framework of the Open Lectures Program. He was also acquainted with current research results of The Department of Information Technology.

May 30th, 2007 Maciej Oppeln Bronikowski from Allegro.pl gave a lecture entitled Trust and security building on the Allegro.pl platform (Budowanie bezpiecze?stwa i zaufania na platformie Allegro.pl) to the students of the E-Business specialization within the ""Electronic International Negotiations"" course supervised by Dr Rafa? Sliwi?ski and Dr Willy Picard.

May 25th, 2007 A team of Poznan University of Economics students: Ma?gorzata Kozlowska, Joanna Tasak, Ewa Porzuckowiak (3rd year students of Electronic Business specialization), and Jedrzej Sklodowski (5st year student of Informatics and Econometrics) won the Third Prize in the Contest University Ernst & Young organized by Ernst & Young Business Advisory and Ernst & Young Audit. The contest is addressed to the last years students of Polish high schools, interested in application of information technologies for business purposes. Majority of teams represented technical universities, PUE's team was a unique one representing an university of economics. Dr. Wojciech Wiza served as a supervisor of PUE's team, and Prof. Wojciech Cellary was invited to join the jury of the contest. Since March to April 2007, the students attended lectures given in the framework of the contest by the representatives of the Department of Technology and Security Risk Services of Ernst & Young. Selected teams were invited to participate in the Final Workshop which took place in Warsaw on May 25th, 2007. The main task of the participants was to solve a real security risk problem in an enterprise (case study).

May 24th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary, Dr. Jarogniew Rykowski and Dr. Krzysztof Walczak participated in The 1st Open Research Seminar organized by The Faculty of Informatics and Electronic Economy of Poznan University of Economics. The main topic of the seminar was Human Resources and Knowledge in Economy - a Challenge of XXI Century. During the seminar Dr. Rykowski had a talk entitled Mass-access Personalization by Means of Software Agents, Dr. Walczak had a talk on Dynamic Virtual Reality Applications. Prof. Cellary chaired a session Economic Process Modeling. He participated also in a debate on research strategy of The Faculty IEE for years 2007-2013. May 21st, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in an inaguration meeting of the Information and Telecommunications Technologies Research Area Panel of the National Foresight Programme Poland 2020. Prof. Cellary was invited on December 2006 to act as an expert of the ITT Research Area Panel. The Research Area Panels are involved in analytical work as well as synthetic work associated with formulating of scenarios of development of research in Poland up to the year 2020. May 16th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the World Information Society Day Celebrations which took place in Warsaw from May 16th to May 18th, 2007. The World Information Society Day in Poland was organized The Polish Information Processing Society and Association of Polish Electrical Engineers under auspicious of the Vice Prime Minister, Ludwig Dorn, and Dr. Hamadoun Touré, International Telecommunications Union Secretary General. May 14th, 2007 Dr Krzysztof Walczak was invited to serve as an independent expert of European Commission, Information Society and Media Directorate General, Networked Media Systems. Dr Walczak will assist the Commission in the evaluation of research proposals submitted to FP7.

May 10th, 2007 Dr Krzysztof Walczak was invited to serve as an expert to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, evaluating research proposals submitted to the Technological Initiative Program.

May 9th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a debate Information Society in Poland - opinions of politics, science, culture and business representatives. The debate was organized by The Media Communication Center and The Polish Information Processing Society in the framework of the World Information Society Day to be held in Warsaw from May 16th to May 18th, 2007.

May 7th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated as a referee in a public defense of a Doctoral Thesis entiteld Sphères de comportement pour la modélisation et l'exécution de procédés flexibles subbmited by Mr. Adnene Guabtni. The defense took place at the Henri Poincaré University Nancy 1, Lorraine Laboratory of IT Research and its Applications (Laboratoire Lorrain de Recherche en Informatique et ses Applications LORIA).

May 3rd, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary received an invitation to join the Program Committee of The International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance ICEGOV 2007 to be held in Macao (China), 10-13 December 2007.

April 23rd, 2007 M. Jacek Chmielewski participated in an educational event European Day organized by The Institut National des Télécommunications (Evry, France). The International Event was attended by Télécom INT and INT Management students. INT faculty members also participated to familiarize themselves with partnerships and to expand current exchange above and beyond the traditional student level. M. Jacek Chmielewski had two lectures presenting Poznan University of Economics, its educational system and SOCRATES/ERASMUS offer. He also presented our university at a Study Abroad Fair with stands representing partner institutions and other organizations involved in the study abroad experience.

April 23rd, 2007 The Department of Information Technology hosts for sabbatical Prof. Susan D. Urban and Prof. Joseph. E. Urban, The School of Computing and Informatics, Arizona State University (USA). During sabbatical they will participate in the research activity of our Department, give lectures to all students and staff of the Poznan University of Economics in the framework of the Open Lectures Program, and consult e-Business students preparing Master's Thesis.

April 19th, 2007 Dr. Sergiusz Strykowski participated as a lecturer in a workshop within Poznan Academic Entrepreneurship Days organized by the Poznan Science and Technology Park UAM Foundation. Dr. Strykowski presented a lecture Networked Virtual Organzations.

April 18th, 2007 Dr. Krzysztof Walczak participated in the working meeting of the partners of the European project INTUITION, which took place in Laval (France) from April 16th to April 18th, 2007. Dr. Walczak chaired a session of Working Group 2.7 Virtual Reality in Culture and Entertainment.

April 17th, 2007 Dr Wojciech Wiza gave lectures as a visiting professor to the students of University of Oviedo (Spain) in the framework of the SOCRATES/ERASMUS Program. Dr Wiza was also a guest of Human Communication and Interaction Research Group of the Faculty of Computer Science. He was acquainted with current research results of HCI. March 14th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary and Dr. Sergiusz Strykowski participated in a debate e-Government - British Experience organized in Poznan by the Marshal's Office of the Wielkopolska Region and the Trade and Investment Department of the British Embassy. During the conference the representatives of British municipalities presented some e-government solutions improving contact between government and citizens.

February 22nd, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a founding meeting of the Polish Scientific Association for Internet-based Distance Education. The Association is founded by Warsaw University, Warsaw University of Technology, Polish Japanese Institute of Information Technology, and The Poznan University of Economics. It aims to promote research activities in the field of distance learning and e-learning in particular.

Prof. Cellary serves as a member of the Program Committee of the conference. The main objective of the VU conferences is to provide a forum for the presentation of both: solutions and problems of creating new models and tools applicable to Distance Education.

February 7th, 2007 Dr. Krzysztof Walczak participated in a meeting of the Working Groups leaders of the European Project INTUITION. Dr. Walczak serves as a leader of the Working Group W.G. 7 Entertainment and Culture. The meeting took place in Athens from February 7th to February 8th, 2007.

January 29th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a conference Chance for Business - European Union Funds 2007-2013 organized by the Polish Confederation of Private Employers LEWIATAN. The conference took place in Warsaw on January 29th, 2007. Prof. Cellary presented a project e-Poland for Everyone.

January 26th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary gave an invited lecture entitled Globalization from Informatics and Communications Perspective in the framework of open lectures organized by the Questions of Boundaries Research Group of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. The Group, headed by the Reverend Professor Tomasz Weclawski, creates a platform for joint questions, talks, lectures and discussions dealing with basic issues, such as image of the world and our own place in it. January 22nd, 2007 Results of the eight edition of the Golden Mouse Contest announced! The contest was addressed to the 1st year Management Faculty students of The Poznan University of Economics. The purpose of the contest is to reward the best business project that promotes use of new Internet and mobile technologies in the business process chain. Students worked in two-person teams. The main criteria of the evaluation were: business model, quality of design, use of new technologies for organization and management transformation. The prizes (palmtop MIO, digital camera Canon PowerShot S2 IS, iPod`s, and 1GB Flash memories) were founded by Bank Zachodni WBK S.A., the main sponsor of the contest. The results were announced during the reward ceremony conducted by Prof. Wojciech Cellary in the presence of the representatives of sponsors, Prof. Piotr Banaszyk, vice-president of the PUE, and Prof. Miroslaw Hamrol, vice-president of The Poznan University of Economics Foundation. The First Prize went to a team Dobrochna Kasperek and Michal Gestwa for a project Digital Pharmacy, the Second Prize went to a team Malgorzata Kiwinska and Inga Ogrodowska for a project Citizen Child, and the Third Prize went to a team Leslaw Matyja and Wojciech Misztak for a project CV Management System. January 18th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a seminar addressed to the postdoctoral students from numerous public and private higher education institutions. The seminar was organized by the Institute of Knowledge Society in Warsaw. The main topic of the seminar was the mission of a modern university.

January 15th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the Conference launching 7th European Framework Programme in Wielkopolska Region. The conference was organized by the Regional Contact Point in Poznan. Prof. Cellary was invited to present his experience as an independent European Commission expert evaluating European projects realisation.

January 11th, 2007 Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 3rd Conference on Knowledge and Innovation: Knowledge and Innovation in Economy Development: Driving Forces and Threats, which was held in Cracow, Poland, on January 11th, 2007. The conference was organized by Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Warsaw School of Economics and The Knowledge and Innovation Institute in Warsaw, under the patronage of EU Commissary for Regional Development, Dorota Hubner. Prof. Cellary chaired a session Teleinformatics and Biotechnology. During a session Innovation Support Program 2007-2013, Prof. Cellary presented a project e-Poland for Everyone.
