Christine Leitner

Dr. Christine Leitner is Head of the Center for European Public Administration (CEPA) at Danube University Krems (AT), where she focuses on programmes related to innovation in public administration.

From 2002 to 2010 she was Programme Director of the European e-Government Awards, a project funded by the European Commission under the eEurope and i2010 initiatives. Before launching CEPA in 2006 she worked as a Senior Lecturer at the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) in Maastricht and Head of the European Integration unit at the Ministry for Economic Affairs in Vienna. In 1995 she was seconded to the European Commission.

Dr. Leitner is Course Director of Executive Master of Public Administration and Master of Science in Rural Studies programmes at Danube University. She has served as reviewer and rapporteur for the European Commission and the OECD and as delegate to the European Public Administration Network. She is a board member of the e-Governance Academy, Estonia. She is the author of various publications on e-government policy and has been a visiting lecturer at various universities and training institutes, such as the Kennedy School of Government (Harvard), University of Maastricht, University Roma III, ESADE and the University of Applied Sciences, Berne. .
