The Swedish Business Link - Innovative co-operation for development of public e-services for business

This presentation will examine a unique collaboration initiative among three government authorities – the Swedish Tax Agency, the Swedish Companies Registration Office and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth which has enabled the Swedish entrepreneurs and enterprises to access relevant information and e-services through one single website, Verksamt.se, Sweden’s Business Link to Government. This is an activity within the strategic framework of the Swedish government’s action plan for eGovernment and in line with the vision and goals of the Digital Agenda of the Swedish Government launched on October 6, 2011. In a European context, verksamt.se plays an important role in Swedish implementation of the Services Directive as the operative website for the Point of Single Contact. The European Charter for Small Enterprises also contains important policy frameworks which verksamt.se operates within. Verksamt.se also plays a role in EU as well as national policy for the reduction of administrative burdens for enterprises. The website and the e-services has been developed in a user centric way with a federated architecture for the 3rd generation of eGovernment. The focus of the services is on SMEs. Accessibility, use of open standard and open source are other key elements of the solutions used. Besides being an e-service, verksamt.se interacts in a clever way with a whole portfolio on joint information and services from authorities to entrepreneurs. The collaboration has a multi-channel approach in which verksamt.se takes a central role.
