Results of the 21st edition of the Golden Mouse Contest announced! The contest was addressed to the 1st year students of the Faculty of Informatics and Electronic Economy. The purpose of the contest was to reward the best business project that promotes use of new Internet and mobile technologies in the business process chain. The main criteria of the evaluation were: business model, use of new technologies for organization and management transformation, quality of design. The prizes were founded by the Santander Bank Polska in the framework of Santander Universidades Program. The results were announced during the reward ceremony conducted by Prof. Wojciech Cellary, in the presence of representatives of the Santander Bank Polska and PUEB autorities. The First Prize went to the team Jędrzej Haracewiat and Mikołaj Hawryluk for a project VibeCheck. Congratulations!!!

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a meeting with students of the AMU Institute of European Culture in Gniezno as part of the "Meeting with the Master" project. The meeting was an interview, prof. Cellary answered student questions about both IT history and current trends.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the New Year's meeting with the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region, Marek Woźniak. Marshal Marek Woźniak presented plans for the development of the Wielkopolska Region in 2020, as part of the strategy for 2020-2030.

Jakub Flotyński, PhD, participated in the international conference STEREOPSIA The 9th International Conference on 3D Immersion IC3D 2019, which took place on December 11-13. in Brussels. The Conference Program Committee has accepted for presentation and publication in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library two articles: “Annotation-based Creation of Explorable Immersive VR / AR Environments” (authors: Jakub Flotyński, Adrian Nowak), and "The Semantic Web3D: towards comprehensive representation of 3D content on the semantic web" (authors: Don Brutzman, Jakub Flotyński, Athanasios Malamos, Nicholas Polys, Leslie Sikos).

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak, and Jakub Flotyński, PhD, visited InterVault GK Japan, based in Tokyo. They presented the results of previous work, they also participated in technical consultations regarding the joint project in the field of developing secure internet communication systems and building a new generation of cryptocurrency trading platforms.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the International Open Eyes Economy Summit, which was held in Krakow on November 19-20, 2019. Open Eyes Economy Summit is an international conference on the economy based on social values, held once a year, in autumn, at the Congress Center ICE Krakow. During the conference prof. Wojciech Cellary and prof. Krzysztof Obłój from the Kozminski University participated in an intellectual debate on “Data and Artificial Intelligence Management and the competence-oriented company”.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak participated as an independent expert of the European Commission in a session monitoring the implementation of the EASY TV project - "Easing the Access of Europeans Disabilities to Converging Media and Content" H2020, which was held in Madrid on November 12-14, 2019.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the international conference The 3rd International Conference on E-Business and Internet ICEBI 2019, which took place in Prague, November 9-11, 2019. Prof. Cellary served as a Conference Program Chair of the ICEBI conference. In addition, he was invited to give a keynote speech entitled "The impact of emerging IT on privacy as a key factor of future e-business".

October 22 - 25, 2019

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak participated in the international conference The 16th EuroVR International Conference, which was held in Tallinn (Estonia) from 22 to 25 October 2019. Prof. Walczak served as a General Co-Chair of the conference. He also organized the show of VR / AR applications developed at the Department of Information Technology in cooperation with AMICA S.A. UEP students who worked on creating applications as part of summer student internships also participated in the show. Prof. Walczak also gave an online interview for the Estonian business portal Business-M.
