The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics. The Department is composed of 14 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 4 assistant professors, 4 research assistants, 1 research scientist and 1 administrative person. The Departmant also takes care for 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Wojciech Cellary. June 5 - 7, 2017

Krzysztof Walczak, Ph.D., and Jakub Flotyński, Ph. D., attended The 22nd International Conference on 3D Web Technology Web3D 2017 hosted by The University of Queensland, Brisbane (Australia), June 5 – 7, 2017. Jakub Flotyński served as a Program Co-Chair of the Web3D Conference. During the conference Krzysztof Walczak presented a paper entitled “Semantic Model for Distributed Augmented Reality Services” (authors: Walczak, K., and D. Rumiński). He chaired also a session „Transmission and streaming of 3D content”. Jakub Flotyński presented a paper “Knowledge-based Representation of 3D Content Behavior in a Service-Oriented Virtual Environment” (authors: Flotyński, J., and K. Walczak), he chaired a session „Web-based 3D environments and systems”. Krzysztof Walczak and Jakub Flotyński participated also in Virtual Reality Hackathon which took place in Brisbane June 2 – 4, 2017. Next year Web3D Conference will be hosted by Poznan University of Economics and Business. Krzysztof Walczak will serve as a General Chair of the conference.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended an international conference The European Christian Internet Conference ECIC 2017 - Public Space Extended Reality and Public Theology, which took place in Falenty near Warsaw. Prof. Cellary gave a keynote speech entitled „Christians in Virtual Reality”.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended a conference CSR Financial Day 2017 hosted by Poznań University of Economics and Business. During a session „Social Responsibilty of Financial Institutions” he gave an invited lecture „Responsability of financial institutions for personal data protection. Protection or betrayal?”. He participated also in a panel discussion.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary received The Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications Award 2016 - in recognition of merit for the development the Polish ICT industry in 2016.

Jacek Chmielewski, Ph.D, received a post-doctoral habilitation degree from a Council of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

March 7 - 10, 2017

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended The 10th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance ICEGOV 2017, with the motto: "Building Knowledge Societies – From Digital Government to Digital Empowerment". The conference took place in New Delhi (India), from 7. to 9. March, 2017. The conference was organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) as the founder and coordinator of the ICEGOV series. Prof. Cellary served as a member of Steering Committee, he co-chaired also The Doctoral Colloquium which followed the main conference on March 10th, 2017.

Jarogniew Rykowski, Ph.D, attended a conference The 5th Smart City Forum, which was held from 8. to 9. March, 2017, in Warsaw. Prof. Rykowski participated in a panel discussion entitled "New business models and city infrastructure financing".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a working session of the Technical Council of the Co-operative Banking Group SGB. Prof. Cellary serves as a president of the Technical Council, which objective is to develop and issue opinions and positions in matters concerning the correct and save operation of the Polish co-operative banking system.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a session of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG). During the session prof. Cellary was re-elected as a member of SAB for the second two years tenure 2017 - 2018.The session took place in Warsaw at the PGNiG premises.
