Dr. Daniel Wilusz presented the invited lecture "Blockchain as the basic data structure for distributed databases" at the "BIPCrypt - Secure Communication in the Digital Age: Exploring the Synergy between Cryptography, Algebra, and Industrial Mathematics" workshop organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak has been invited to serve as a guest editor for a special issue of Computers & Graphics, published by Elsevier. This special issue will include extended versions of the best papers from the EuroXR 2023 conference.

The online conference "2nd International Conference - Challenges and Reality of the IT-space: Software Engineering and Cybersecurity" was held on October 12th-13th. The conference is co-organized by the Department of Software Engineering and Cybersecurity (State University of Trade and Economics, Kyiv, Ukraine) and the Department of Information Technology (Poznań University of Economics). Dr. hab. Adam Wójtowicz delivered the opening speech and chaired the afternoon sessions on the first day of the conference. Dr. hab. Adam Wójtowicz and dr. Daniel Wilusz participated in the Organizing Committee discussion session on the second day of the conference.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak has been invited to the Program Committee of the 12th International Conference on Building and Exploring Web Based Environments (WEB 2024), which will be held in Athens, Greece, on March 10-14, 2024.

Dr. Daniel Wilusz has been invited to the Program Committee of the "6th International Conference on HCI for Cybersecurity, Privacy and Trust (HCI-CPT)", which will be held on 29 June - 4 July 2024 in Washington DC, USA.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak has been invited to the program committee of the 12th National Scientific Conference in Honor of Professor Zbigniew Czerwiński "Mathematics and Computer Science in the Service of Economics", which will be held online on September 22, 2023.

Dr Daniel Wilusz has received the Award of the PUEB Rector for original and creative research achievement in year 2022 (the paper "Secure protocols for smart contract based insurance services" in a recognized international journal - Expert Systems), and for organizational and image achievements of significant importance for the university in year 2022 (work on organizing international conference "Challenges and Reality of the IT-space: Software Engineering and Cybersecurity").

Dr hab. inż. Adam Wójtowicz has received the Award of the PUEB Rector for original and creative research achievement in year 2022 (a publication in a recognized international journal), and for organizational and image achievements of significant importance for the university in year 2022 (work on organizing international conference "Challenges and Reality of the IT-space: Software Engineering and Cybersecurity").

Dr. Daniel Wilusz has been invited to the Program Committee of the "4th European Symposium on Software Engineering - ESSE 2023", which will be held on 1 - 3 December 2023 in Neapoli, Italy.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak took part in the "W Środku Dnia" program on Radio Poznań. The discussion, involving listeners, focused on the consequences of widespread access to artificial intelligence and its impact on education, medicine, work, and art.

On April 19-28, prof. Jarogniew Rykowski and dr. Daniel Wilusz gave lectures and carried out exercises for high school students during the ENIGMA Metropolitan Science Festival. Prof. Jarogniew Rykowski introduced participants to the history and implementation of the concept of a smart city, and dr. Daniel Wilusz presented the technical basis of blockchain and demonstrated an example of programming smart contracts.

In the VR/AR Laboratory of the Department of Information Technology, demonstrations were held for participants of the International Staff Week 2023 conference, organized at UEP. The event was attended by administrative staff from foreign universities.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak has been invited to participate in the work of the European Commission's panel of experts evaluating applications submitted by international research consortia to the Horizon Europe program.
