The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics. The Department is composed of 13 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Departmant also takes care for 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Wojciech Cellary. Krzysztof Walczak, PhD, participated as a reviewer in the defense of Mr. Maciej Karaszewski's doctoral dissertation entitled "Automated System for High Resolution 3D Shape Digitization", which took place at the Faculty of Mechatronics of the Warsaw University of Technology.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the plenary session of the Banking Committee of the Cyber ​​Security Center, organized in Warsaw by the Polish Bank Association. Prof. Wojciech Cellary gave an invited lecture entitled "Security and privacy in banks. The context of new technologies".

October 22 - 23, 2018

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak participated in The 15th Annual EuroVR Conference, which took place in London from October 22 to October 23, 2018. Prof. Krzysztof Walczak served as the co-chairman of the Poster & Demo Committee and chaired the "Poster, Demo, Exhibition fast-forward" session. He was also the Chairman of the Best Poster and Best Demo of EuroVR 2018 Jury. The conference was accompanied by the General Assembly of the members of the international association EuroVR Association. There was also a meeting of members of the Executive Committee, in which prof. Walczak has been a member for three terms.

Prof. Jarogniew Rykowski participated as an expert in the 5th edition of Workshop for Doctoral Students and Young Researchers in Information Technology 2018, organized in Kazimierz Dolny by the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary gave an open lecture entitled "Future cyber-world for today's high school students" inaugurating the Patronage Class program 2018/2019, designed for high school students from Poznań.

On October 18, the ceremony of presenting the University Rector's awards to researchers took place. The prizes were awarded to:
Prof. Wojciech Cellary - Individual Award the Rector of The Poznan University of Economics and Business for organizational and image achievements, especially for strengthening the image of the University of Economics in Poznań by unusual popular-science and journalistic activity in the press, radio, television and social media.

Dariusz Rumiński, MSc., participated in the conference International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality ISMAR 2018, held from 16-20 October in Munich. The organizers of the conference accepted the presentation entitled "Augmenting Mixed Reality Applications with the Vibro Motors Wearable".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the conference "Cooperative banking vs. the challenges of the open digital market", organized by the Banking Advisory and Education Center based in Poznań. Prof. Cellary delivered an invited lecture entitled "Cooperative banks vs. the challenge of multi-generational 4.0 society".

Krzysztof Walczak, PhD, participated as an independent expert of the European Commission in the evaluation session of the final report of the IMMERSIVE TV project. The evaluation took place in Barcelona at the Technical University of Barcelona.
