Welcome to the Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. June 10 - 11, 2010

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in an annual conference of the International Group of Educational Publishers IGEP. The International Group of Educational Publishers is an association of the leading European publishing companies providing educational resources – both in print and digital forms. The IGEP 2010 conference was organized by Polish member of the association Young Digital Planet S.A. During the conference prof. Cellary gave an invited lecture "Paid Content a Way to Electronic Knowledge-Based Economy".

Thanks to the DIT efforts, The Poznan University of Economics becomes a member of The eMobility Platform which brings together European organisations to address, as a community, the challenges of future networks, building on Europe's success in mobile communications.

Dr Krzysztof Walczak participated as an EU independent expert in an evaluation of FP7-ICT objective 4.1 "Digital Libraries and Digital Preservation".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in V Congress of Electronic Economy which took place in Warsaw. Prof. Cellary gave a lecture entitled "Financing of Knowledge Based e-Economy".

Dr Jacek Chmielewski participated in an international conference on Web development, mobile UX, and design SparkUp 2010 which took place in Poznan. SparkUp gives an opportunity to meet the best experts on mobile UX technology, Web application development.

Dr Jacek Chmielewski participated in an international conference Mobile User Experience Conference MEX 2010 which was held in London. It was a two day strategy forum exploring the techniques and strategies for creating great mobile user experience in a multi-platform digital environment. Dr Chmielewski was awarded a MEX Scholarship covering costs of attendance.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary met Mr. Wojciech Hałka, Director of The National Institute of Telecommunications in Miedzeszyn near Warsaw.  Prof. Cellary invited Mr. Hałka to give an invited lecture on the newest research in telecommunications to PUE students following courses in the Department of Information Technology.

May 10 - 14, 2010

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated - as a member of Polish governmental delegation - in The World Summit on the Information Society WSIT 2010, which was held in Geneve. Prof. Cellary was invited to participate in WSIT by the Minister of Interior and Administration. During the conference prof. Cellary gave two lectures "Non-Technical Aspects of Citizens Engagement in e-Government" and "Financing Knowledge Economy".

April 30, 2010

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in Warsaw in a debate of experts invited by the Board of Strategic Advisors do the Prime Minister. The experts discussed on the role of digital technologies in teleinformatics and media in a time perspective of one generation – in about 20 years’ time – 2030.

April 27 - 28, 2010

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a two-days discussion devoted to the programme Electronic Public Services Platform ePUAP, an initiative developped by the Ministry of Interior and Administration. The meeting was held in Serock near Warsaw.
