Welcome to the Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. June 20th, 2008

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 8th Conference "Virtual University - Model, Tools, Practice - VU 2008" which was organized by Center of Open and Distance Education CODE (Warsaw University of Technology), Warsaw University and Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology. The main topic of 2008 edition was "Open universities, open resources, open access". During the conference Prof. Cellary had a lecture on e-Learning in Knowledge-Based Economy.

June 18th, 2008

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a conference organized by The "Poland 2000 Plus" Forecast Commitee affiliated with The Presidium of The Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. The main topic of the session was "National Foresight - Results and Problems".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary has been invited to join The Council of Media and Computer Education, an advisory body to Minister of National Education.

June 10th, 2008

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a working session of the Chapter of the Marek Car Award. Prof. Cellary is a member of the jury as a laureate of the last edition of the Marek car Award 2007.

Dr. Jacek Chmielewski participated in The 22nd European Conference on Modelling and Simulation ECMS 2008, which was  held in Nicosia (Cyprus) from June 3rd to June 6th, 2008. Dr. Chmielewski presented a paper entitled "Architectural Modeling with Reusable Interactive 3D Objects".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a working session of the "Poland 2000 Plus" Forecast Commitee affiliated with The Presidium of The Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Prof . Cellary had a speech "A Role of IT Technology in EU and Poland".

Dr. Krzysztof Walczak and Dr. Jacek Chmielewski participated in The IEEE International Conference on Human System Interaction HSI'08, which was held in Cracow (Poland) from May 25th to May 27th, 2008. During the conference Dr. Krzysztof Walczak presented a paper entitled "Flex-VR: Configurable 3D Web Applications", and Dr. Jacek Chmielewski presented a  paper "Interaction Descriptor for 3D Objects”.

Dr. Krzysztof Walczak and Dr. Jacek Chmielewski attended The 1st International Conference on Information Technology IT'08, which took place in Gdańsk from May 18 to May 21, 2008. The IT'08 Conference was organized by Gdańsk University of Technology and IEEE Poland Section. During the conference Dr. Krzysztof Walczak presented a paper entitled "Dynamic Composition of Behavior-rich VR Content". and Dr. Jacek Chmielewski presented a paper "Metadata Model for Interactions of 3D Objects”.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 3rd Congress on Electronic Economy organized in Warsaw by the Polish Bank Association. Prof. Cellary, together with Mr. Krzysztof Pietraszkiewicz, President of the Association, presented an inaugural lecture "Innovation as a Base of Economy Development".
