The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated as an expert in a meeting organized by Ministry of Administration and Digitization of Poland, Digital Champion, and Foundation “Our Republic of Poland” in order to present a progress of development of a project entitled “Portal about Poland”.

Prof. Jarogniew Rykowski has visited IT & Innovations Services Department at The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology LIST, involved in a project "Goal Oriented Layered System for Interoperable Activities of Things - GOLIATH", developed jointly by LIST and PUE in the framework of POLLUX Program. The aim of the visit was to work together on the report on the results of Work Packages 2 and 3.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak attended The 20th International Conference on Virtual Systems and Multimedia VSMM 2014, which was held in Hong Kong from 9 to 12 December, 2014. During the conference prof. Walczak presented a paper entitled „Building Contextual Augmented Reality Environments with Semantics” (authors: Walczak, K., D. Rumiński, J. Flotyński). He also participated in four workshops preceding the VSMM conference: Workshop "Motion Capture MOCAMP", Workshop "Focus 3D Laser Scanning FARO", Aerial Dron Workshop, and Workshop "Use & Re-use of Data".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary gave an invited lecture entitled "Education in the age of tablets" to the participants of a scientific Seminar at the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cracow, a Polish scientific institution founded in 1872. Since 2002 monthly Seminars of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences have been organised. Currently, the leading topic is Patriotism yesterday and today.

Adam Wójtowicz, PhD, attended two international events: an annual meeting of the partners of the project Ed.2.0 Work (European network for the integration of Web 2.0 in education and work), which was hosted by University of West Scotland in Paisley (November 19, 2014), and The European Conference in the Applications of Enabling Technologies ECEAT 2014, which took place in IET Glasgow Teacher Building on November 20 -21, 2014.

Wojciech Wiza, PhD, participated as an independent expert of the European Commission in a working session evaluating the proposals submitted in response to the HORIZON 2020 call for proposals. The meeting took place in Brussels, in the EC Research Executive Agency Premises.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended a conference The 8th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance „The Rise of Data Post-2015 – Empowered Citizens, Accountable Institutions” ICEGOV 2014, which took place in Guimaraes (Portugal). Prof. Cellary gave an invited keynote speech entitled „Strategic Impact of Cloud Computing on the Public Sector”, he also participated in a panel discussion following the lecture.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended two events organized in Warsaw by United Nations Global Compact Network Poland: an inauguration meeting of the UN GCNP Steering Committee, and inauguration of „UN Global Compact Yearbook 2014” as a part of celebration of United Nations Day in Poland. Prof. Cellary has been invited to join the UN GCNP Steering Commitee as an expert on electronic commerce.He is also an author of a paper published in "UN Global Compact Yearbook 2014", entitled "Economy of Creativity".
