The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. September 14 - 16, 2015

Jacek Chmielewski, PhD, attended an international conference The 4th International Symposium on Frontiers in Network Applications, Network Systems and Web Services SoFAST-WS 2015, organized under the umbrella of The Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems FedCSIS 2015, which took place in Łódź (Poland). During the conference Dr. Jacek Chmielewski presented a paper entitled “Run-time UI Adaptation in the Context of the Device-Independent Architecture”.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated as a panelist in the discussions led by the representatives of the Polish business and government during the conference ”Innovations – the transfer of knowledge” organized in Wroclaw by KGHM Polish Copper SA and Global Compact Network Poland.

August 26 - 28, 2015

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended an International Conference on Mobile & Internet Banking Security IBS 2015, which took place in Giżycko (Poland). Prof. Cellary gave an invited lecture entitled “e-Privacy Violation as a Betrayal”. He chaired also a panel discussion on the top threats to mobile and Internet banking security 2015 – 2016.

July 1 - 31, 2015

Jakub Flotyński granted a scholarship from The German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst DAAD). DAAD scholarships are awarded by selection committees comprising a panel of independent academics. Jakub Flotyński was invited to work for one month at the Fraunhofer-Institut für Graphische Datenverarbeitung Darmstadt. The scholarship granted as part of the above funding programme is financed entirely from German federal public funds.

July 26 - 30, 2015

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended The 3rd International Conference on Human Side of Service Engineering HSSE 2015, organized under The 6th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics AHFE 2015 umbrella. The conferences took place in Las Vegas (USA) from July 26 to July 30, 2015. Prof. Cellary served as a Co-Chair of the HSSE 2015 Scientific Advisory Board. He gave also a lecture entitled “e-Service Dominant Logic” during a session “Smart Service Systems: Augmenting and Scaling Human Expertise with Cognitive Assistants".

July 6 - 8, 2015

Mr. Dariusz Rumiński, M.Sc, participated at The 6th International IEEE Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications IISA 2015, held in Corfu (Greece), July 6 - 8, 2015. During the conference Mr. Rumiński presented a paper titled „Modeling Spatial Sound in Contextual Augmented Reality Environments".

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak attended The 33rd European Conference on Cognitive Ergonomics ECCE 2015 which was held in Warsaw, July 1 - 3, 2015. Prof. Walczak gave a keynote speech titled "The Challenge of Designing Interactive 3D Content".

Mr. Jakub Flotyński, M.Sc., participated at The 18th International Conference on Business Information Systems BIS 2015 – Making Big Data Smarter, which was held in Poznan (Poland), June 24 – 26, 2015. During a session on Semantic Technologies, Mr. Flotyński presented a paper titled “Ontology-Based Creation of 3D Content in a Service-Oriented Environment” (authors: Walczak, K., J. Flotyński).

June 18 - 21, 2015

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak attended The 20th ACM SIGGRAPH International Conference on 3D Web Technology, which was held in Heraklion (Greece), June 18 – 21, 2015. During the conference prof. Walczak presented a paper titled “Semantic Query-based Generation of Customized 3D Scenes” (authors: Walczak, K., J. Flotyński) rewarded with The Web3D Best Paper Award for quality of the written and oral presentation. The nomination for this award comes from conference chairs and co-chairs.

June 15 - 17, 2015

Daniel Wilusz, M.A, attended The 8th International Conference on Computational Intelligence in Security for Information Systems CISIS 2015, which was held in Burgos (Spain). Mr. Wilusz presented a paper entitled "Privacy-Preserving Protocol for Smart Space Services with Negotiable Comfort Preferences" (authors: Wilusz, D., A. Wójtowicz).
