The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. Dariusz Rumiński, M.Sc, attended The 6th International Conference on EUropean Transnational Education ICEUTE 2015, which was held in Burgos (Spain). Mr Rumiński presented a paper entitled „Building Augmented Reality Presentations with Web 2.0 Tools” (authors: Walczak, K., W. Wiza, R. Wojciechowski, A. Wójtowicz, D. Rumiński, W. Cellary).

Prof. Jarogniew Rykowski participated in The 7th Forum of Cooperative Banking Technology, organized in Warsaw by Polish Bank Association. During the conference prof. Rykowski gave an invited lecture “The Bank of Things”.

Jacek Chmielewski, PhD, participated in FOKUS Media Web Symposium MWS 2015, which took place in Berlin on May 20 – 21, 2015. The focus of the 5th FOKUS Media Web Symposium was on „Web of the Future for the Creative Industry – Technologies, Tools, Standards“. The symposium offered the latest insights in Connected TV, Web Technologies, Internet of Things, Streaming Media and Multiscreen Solutions.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended a conference on Digital Single Market Strategy, which was held in Warsaw, with participation of Vice-President of European Commission Andrus Ansip, who gave a keynote speech on EU strategy for building a Digital Single Market in Europe. During the conference prof. Cellary served as a moderator of the session entitled “European Digital Market vs. Economy”.

Jakub Flotyński, M.Sc., has been awarded a scholarship by Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst DAAD for research and study in a German research institution. The DAAD scholarships are awarded by selection committees comprising a panel of independent academics. The host institution for Mr. Flotyński is Fraunhofer-Institut für Graphische Datenverarbeitung Darmstadt.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended The 4th Forum of Banking Security organized in Warsaw by The Banking Law and Information Center, under the auspices of The Polish Banks Association, National Security Bureau and the Central Bank of the Republic of Poland. During a session devoted to technologies and technical solutions for maintenance and security management in banks prof. Cellary presented a lecture entitled “A betrayal as a key weapon in a cyber war”.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended The 7th European Economic Congress in Katowice, the largest business event in Central Europe. Prof. Cellary was invited to chair a session “Digital Agenda for Europe – European Digital Single Market” devoted to following topics: main objectives of the DAE and the state of their implementation, the development of ICT and their significance for the global competitiveness of the European economy, a call for a single digital market, key investments and potential benefits to the economy, and funds intended for the implementation of particular actions that serve to complete the Agenda.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended a conference „e-Administration for Business – e-Services for Business”, organized in Warsaw by Ministry of Administration and Digitization, Institute of Logistics and Warehousing and Ministry of Economy. Prof. Cellary chaired a discussion panel entitled “Business-friendly e-Services – Confrontation between businesses and public institutions over e-services development visions”. During a session “Efficiency of Public e-Services” prof. Cellary presented a lecture entitled „Cloud computing as a way to improve efficiency of public e-services”.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in an annual ceremony of the conferment of doctoral degrees at the Gdańsk University of Technology. Prof. Cellary served as a supervisor of a PhD dissertation of Zbigniew Paszkiewicz who defended his thesis in June 2014.

Prof. Wojcoech Cellary, prof. Krzysztof Walczak and prof. Jarogniew Rykowski participated in the 7th edition of the Poznan University of Economics Days held under the motto 'We program OUR future'. The main event was an opening ceremony of the new PUE building - Educational Center of Electronic Services, attended by notable guests, including Governor of the Wielkopolska Region, Marshal of Wielkopolska Region, Mayor of Poznań, Poznań Vice-Starost, and Chairman of the Poznań City Council. Prof. Cellary moderated a panel discussion "Economic prospects for e-services in Poland" on what kind of e- services we need, how should we create them and how to educate artists who will be able to transform today's visions into tomorrow's reality. The participants of the panel were also prof. Walczak and prof. Rykowski.
