September 20 - 21, 2018

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 32nd International Symposium on Computer and Information Sciences (in conjunction with the IFIP World Congress 2018), which took place at the Poznan University of Technology on 20 - 21 September 2018. On the second day of the conference, prof. Cellary delivered a keynote speech entitled "The impact of emerging information technologies on persons' privacy."

A team of students of the Internet of Things Applications, a joint course of Adam Mickiewicz University and the Poznań University of Economics and Business, composed of: Mateusz Halicki (PUEB, captain), Dawid Śliwiński (AMU), Sebastian Jastrzębski (AMU) and Aleksander Kempa (AMU), working under the supervision of dr. Wojciech Czart from AMU Faculty of Physic, was announced the Global Winner in the international competition Global Online Marketing Academic Challenge – GOMAC 2018! Congratulations!!!

Jarogniew Rykowski, PhD, participated in The 19th IFIP / SOCOLNET Working Conference on Virtual Enterprises PRO-VE 2018, which took place in Cardiff (UK), September 17 - 19, 2018. At the conference Jarogniew Rykowski presented a paper entitled „In-store proximity marketing by means of IoT devices” (authors: Chojnacki,T., J. Rykowski, and S. Strykowski).

September 17 - 18, 2018

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the First Wielkopolska Economic Congress, which took place in Poznań and Piła from 17 to 18 September 2018. The organizer of the Congress was the Wielkopolska Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Office of the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region. On the first day of the congress took place in the Marshal Office premises in Poznań, and on the second day at the headquarters of the company DPS Gabionen in Piła. Prof. Cellary gave an ivited lecture in Poznan and Piła, entitled "Wielkopolska 4.0", as a part of panel discussion "Economic development of Wielkopolska - challenges".

Tomasz Chojnacki participated in The 39th International Conference on Information Systems Architecture and Technology ISAT 2018, which took place in Nysa near Wrocław. Tomasz Chojnacki presented a paper entitled "IoT-based Surveillance for Instant Marketing in Real Stores" (authors: Chojnacki, T., J. Rykowski).

September 13, 2018

epartment of Information Technology hosted prof. Joseph E. Urban, emeritus professor at Technical Tex University, Lubbock, Texas (USA). During a visit prof. Urban visited teaching laboratories at the CEUE building, and VR/AR scientific laboratory InnoUEP. He also gave individual consultations with young researchers: Jakub Flotyński, Tomasz Chojnacki, Michał Brzoski, Dominik Strugała. Prof. also met with students taking internships at DIT. Each student had the opportunity to present and discuss their project.

Professor Wojciech Cellary gave the invited lecture entitled "Libraries in the world of virtual and augmented reality" for the participants of the 3rd Conference of Scientific Libraries "Library and its surroundings: experiences and challenges", which took place at the University of Economics in Poznan under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the PUE.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak and WIGE student Jakub Dziekoński participated in The 11th International Conference on Human System Interaction HSI 2018, which took place at the Gdańsk University of Technology. On the second day of the conference during the session entitled "CAVE as the immersive virtual reality environment / Affective Computing" Mr. Jakub Dziekoński presented an article entitled "Configurable Virtual Reality Shopping Space with Contextual Interaction Interface" (authors: Walczak,K., J. Sokołowski, and J. Dziekoński).

June 24 - 27, 2018

Jakub Flotyński, PhD, and two WIGE students Mikołaj Maik and Adrian Nowak participated in The 5th International Conference on Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Computer Graphics (SALENTO AVR 2018), which took place in Otranto (Lecce, Italy) from 24 to June 27, 2018. On the second day of the conference, Jakub Flotyński chaired the Human-Computer Interaction session, during which the student Adrian Nowak presented an article entitled Explorable Representation of Interaction in VR / AR Environments (authors: Flotyński, J., A. Nowak, K. Walczak). During the session - "Augmented and Mixed Reality", student Mikołaj Maik presented an article entitled "Mixed Reality Stock Trading Visualization System" (authors: Rumiński, D., M. Maik, K. Walczak).
