Dr. Wojciech Wiza met Director of Salt Mine in Wieliczka. The Mine is a part of National Museum in Cracov. Dr Wiza presented the ARCO virtual museum technology for museums which enables to create 3D Virtual Exhibitions on the Web.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a panel discussion organized by the Ministry of Interior and Administration entitled "Information Society - four years after accession to the European Union. Strategie for Poland.  The honorary guest of the debate was Fabio Colasanti, European Commission Director General for Information Society and Media. Prof. Cellary gave a speech entitled "Information Society in Poland - Chance and Necessity".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary has been invited to join the Program Committee of the 4th International Conference on Evaluation of Novel Approaches to Software Engineering ENASE 2009 to be held in Milan (Italy), May 6-10, 2009.

Mr. Rafał Wojciechowski defended successfuly his PhD Thesis entitled "Modeling Interactive Educational Scenarios in a Mixed Reality Environment". The public defence took place at The Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics of The Gdańsk University of Technology.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary gave an invited lecture entitled "Challenges of Virtual Enterprise Management" at the Brandenburgische Technische Universität, Cottbus (Germany).

Prof. Wojciech Cellary has been invited by Laboratoire d'Analyse et Modélisation de Systèmes pour l'Aide à la Décision LAMSADE (Université Paris Dauphine) to particpate in a public defence of Mr. Khaled Jouini PhD Thesis entitled: "Optimisation de la localité spatiale des données temporelles et multiversion". Prof. Cellary served as an external reviewer of the Thesis.

Telcordia Technologies Inc, a global leader in the development of IP, wireline and mobile telecommunications software and services, has opened a research center in Poznan, Poland. The Poznan Technology Research Center will cooperate with the biggest univiersities in Poznan: Poznan University of Economics, Poznań University of Technology and Adam Mickiewicz University. The opening ceremony was held on June 30, 2008 in the presence of many distinguished guests: Rectors of PUE, PUT and AMU, President of the City of Poznań, Telcordia directors, Attaché of the USA Embassy in Poland, local and governmental authorities, Poznan industry and science representatives. An inaugurational lecture entitled "The Most Important Question in Science: Does P=NP?" was given at the Poznan University of Economics by Prof. Richard J. Lipton from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 8th Conference "Virtual University - Model, Tools, Practice - VU 2008" which was organized by Center of Open and Distance Education CODE (Warsaw University of Technology), Warsaw University and Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology. The main topic of 2008 edition was "Open universities, open resources, open access". During the conference Prof. Cellary had a lecture on e-Learning in Knowledge-Based Economy.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a conference organized by The "Poland 2000 Plus" Forecast Commitee affiliated with The Presidium of The Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. The main topic of the session was "National Foresight - Results and Problems".
