March 7 - 10, 2017

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended The 10th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance ICEGOV 2017, with the motto: "Building Knowledge Societies – From Digital Government to Digital Empowerment". The conference took place in New Delhi (India), from 7. to 9. March, 2017. The conference was organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) as the founder and coordinator of the ICEGOV series. Prof. Cellary served as a member of Steering Committee, he co-chaired also The Doctoral Colloquium which followed the main conference on March 10th, 2017.

Jarogniew Rykowski, Ph.D, attended a conference The 5th Smart City Forum, which was held from 8. to 9. March, 2017, in Warsaw. Prof. Rykowski participated in a panel discussion entitled "New business models and city infrastructure financing".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a working session of the Technical Council of the Co-operative Banking Group SGB. Prof. Cellary serves as a president of the Technical Council, which objective is to develop and issue opinions and positions in matters concerning the correct and save operation of the Polish co-operative banking system.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a session of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG). During the session prof. Cellary was re-elected as a member of SAB for the second two years tenure 2017 - 2018.The session took place in Warsaw at the PGNiG premises.

Krzysztof Walczak, Ph.D, participated as an indenpendent expert of European Commission in a working session evaluating projects submitted to the program ICT-19 Innovation Actions Horizon 2020. The session took place at the premises of European Commission in Brussels.

Results of the 18th edition of the Golden Mouse Contest announced! The contest was addressed to the 1st year students of the Faculty of Informatics and Electronic Economy. The purpose of the contest was to reward the best business project that promotes use of new Internet and mobile technologies in the business process chain. The main criteria of the evaluation were: business model, use of new technologies for organization and management transformation, quality of design. The prizes were founded by the UEP Vice-Rector for Education and Students. The results were announced during the reward ceremony conducted by Prof. Wojciech Cellary, in the presence of the representative of the PUEB autorities: Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, prof. Elżbieta Gołata, former Vice-Rector for Education and Students, prof. Jacek Mizerka, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Electronic Economy, prof. Krzysztof Malaga,and President of PUEB Foundation, prof. Magdalena Florek. The First Prize went to the team Maciej Bergier and Natalia Chudy for a project entitled Locals.

Jakub Flotyński, Ph.D, received the 2nd degree Individual Award from Minister of Science and Higher Education, Jarosław Gowin. The award is conferred for outstanding scientific achievements and doctoral dissertation with distinctinction. The award ceremony took place on December 9th, 2016 at the premises of Museum of History oof Polish Jews in Warsaw.

November 28 - December 2, 2016

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 5th Polish – Taiwanese Scientific Seminar, which took place in Taipei (Taiwan) from November 28 to December 2, 2016. This was a seminar for academics and practitioners to exchange ideas and to identify potential areas for collaboration on the topic of Information and Communication Technology. The seminar was organized by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan (MOST) in the framework of the bilateral cooperation between NCBR and MOST, based on the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation, signed on 12 December 2012. Prof. Cellary served as a coordinator of Polish team. He presented also an introducing lecture entitled „Virtual Augmented Reality and Internet of Things: two influential technologies of the future”. The Polish participants were invited to visit some of the most recognized universities in Taipei:

Krzysztof Walczak, Ph.D, attended an international conference EuroVR 2016, which took place in Athens (Greece), on November 22 – 24, 2016. The conference was organized by the European Association for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. Krzysztof Walczak is a member of the Executive Committee of the EuroVR Association since 2012.
