The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. The Department of Information Technology hosted a VR Hackathon, which was a part of a series of VR hackathons organized by the Web3D Consortium.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the conference "Forum of Banking Strategies", part of the conference "Horizons of Banking 2018", which took place in Warsaw. During the session "Strategies and business models of banks in the multi-generation client environment of society 4.0" prof. Cellary delivered a lecture entitled "Banks for multi-generational society 4.0". He also took part in a panel discussion on the future and strategies of banks.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 10th Academic Debate "The Lie and the Truth v. Modern Media" organized jointly by the Poznań University of Economics and Business and Adam Mickiewicz University.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary and Jarogniew Rykowski, PhD, participated in the 13th Congress of Electronic Economy, which took place in Warsaw under the auspices of the Polish Bank Association. Prof. Wojciech Cellary is a member of the Congress Program Council since the first edition. Jarogniew Rykowski as representative of PUEB and prof. Grzegorz Pawłowski as representative of Adam Mickiewicz University received special awards from the Polish Bank Association in the competition of the 13th Congress of Electronic Economy for creating and running the course of studies "Applications of Internet of Things".

May 23 - 24, 2018

Prof. Wojciech Cellary and Jarogniew Rykowski, PhD, participated in the Polish Logistics Congress LOGISTICS 2018 - Digital Supply Chains which took place in Poznań. Prof. Cellary participated in the debate entitled "How cyber-threats can slow down the process of digitization of supply chains", which was held as part of the main plenary session. Jarogniew Rykowski chaired the session "Internet of Things and other breakthrough technologies in logistics".

On May 17, 2018, the celebration of the Day of the Poznań University of Economics and Business took place. On this occasion, the Academic Debate "Cryptocurrencies - more technology or money?" was organized by PUEB and Adam Mickiewicz University. Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a panel discussion.
On the occasion of the Day of the PUEB, Krzysztof Walczak, PhD, received from the Rector the Medal of the National Education Commission, awarded by the Minister of National Education for special merits for didactics.

May 16, 2018

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the Gala of the World Information Society Day, combined with the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Polish computer science. The organizer of the ceremony was The Polish Information Processing Society. During the ceremony, medals for the 70th anniversary of Polish IT were awarded to people who were especially merited for the development of the ICT sector in Poland. President Włodzimierz Marciński also awarded honorary badges of PTI to the members of the Society, who made a significant contribution to its development. Professor Wojciech Cellary was honored with the Medal of the 70th anniversary of Polish computer science and the Gold Honorary Medal of The Polish Information Processing Society.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the conference V Digital Money & Blockchain Forum "Bitcoin and blockchain will omit Poland?". The conference was held at the Institute of Mathematical Machines in Warsaw.

Jarogniew Rykowski, PhD, and Krzysztof Walczak, PhD, participated in the “Smart City Conference and Expo”, held as part of the SECUREX fair in Poznan. The conference was organized by the city of Poznań, which for several years has been organizing conferences presenting modern solutions to make life easier for residents, implemented with e-government tools. Jarogniew Rykowski presented a lecture "Location and public services "on site and on time", and Krzysztof Walczak a lecture "Virtual and augmented reality in the service of cities".

April 18 - 19, 2018

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the conference "Security of Europe in the Age of Civilizational Disputes," organized in Jabłonna near Warsaw by the Forecasting Committee "Poland 2000 Plus" at the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences. During the session entitled "Political security - socio-political aspects determined by the policy of state and international administration" prof. Cellary delivered a lecture entitled "The role of the State in ensuring cybersecurity”.
