The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. October 21 - 22, 2018

Prof. Jarogniew Rykowski participated as an expert in the 5th edition of Workshop for Doctoral Students and Young Researchers in Information Technology 2018, organized in Kazimierz Dolny by the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary gave an open lecture entitled "Future cyber-world for today's high school students" inaugurating the Patronage Class program 2018/2019, designed for high school students from Poznań.

On October 18, the ceremony of presenting the University Rector's awards to researchers took place. The prizes were awarded to:
Prof. Wojciech Cellary - Individual Award the Rector of The Poznan University of Economics and Business for organizational and image achievements, especially for strengthening the image of the University of Economics in Poznań by unusual popular-science and journalistic activity in the press, radio, television and social media.

October 16 - 18, 2018

Dariusz Rumiński, MSc., participated in the conference International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality ISMAR 2018, held from 16-20 October in Munich. The organizers of the conference accepted the presentation entitled "Augmenting Mixed Reality Applications with the Vibro Motors Wearable".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary delivered the invited lecture entitled "Blockchain - myths and reality" for employees of the PGNiG Group during an event within the series of "Meetings with technology", organized at the Incubator InnVento in Warsaw.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the conference "Cooperative banking vs. the challenges of the open digital market", organized by the Banking Advisory and Education Center based in Poznań. Prof. Cellary delivered an invited lecture entitled "Cooperative banks vs. the challenge of multi-generational 4.0 society".

September 26 - 28, 2018

Krzysztof Walczak, PhD, participated as an independent expert of the European Commission in the evaluation session of the final report of the IMMERSIVE TV project. The evaluation took place in Barcelona at the Technical University of Barcelona.

September 20 - 21, 2018

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 32nd International Symposium on Computer and Information Sciences (in conjunction with the IFIP World Congress 2018), which took place at the Poznan University of Technology on 20 - 21 September 2018. On the second day of the conference, prof. Cellary delivered a keynote speech entitled "The impact of emerging information technologies on persons' privacy."

A team of students of the Internet of Things Applications, a joint course of Adam Mickiewicz University and the Poznań University of Economics and Business, composed of: Mateusz Halicki (PUEB, captain), Dawid Śliwiński (AMU), Sebastian Jastrzębski (AMU) and Aleksander Kempa (AMU), working under the supervision of dr. Wojciech Czart from AMU Faculty of Physic, was announced the Global Winner in the international competition Global Online Marketing Academic Challenge – GOMAC 2018! Congratulations!!!

Jarogniew Rykowski, PhD, participated in The 19th IFIP / SOCOLNET Working Conference on Virtual Enterprises PRO-VE 2018, which took place in Cardiff (UK), September 17 - 19, 2018. At the conference Jarogniew Rykowski presented a paper entitled „In-store proximity marketing by means of IoT devices” (authors: Chojnacki,T., J. Rykowski, and S. Strykowski).
