The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the New Year's meeting with the President of the City of Poznań, Jacek Jaśkowiak, who traditionally invited representatives of the world of culture, science, business, media, politicians and local government to a meeting summarizing the past year 2018. He also presented the city plans for 2019.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the New Year's meeting with the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Province, which took place in the AMU Auditorium. Marshal Marek Woźniak presented the achievements of last year and plans for the development of the Wielkopolska Province for 2019.

December 18, 2019

Dariusz Rumiński received the Ph.D. degree with distinction in Computer Science, minor Multimedia Systems, at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics at the Gdańsk University of Technology. The title of his Ph.D. thesis was “Semantic modeling of contextual augmented reality environments". The supervisor of the doctoral dissertation was Krzysztof Walczak, Ph.D., Associate Professor of PUE.

Krzysztof Walczak, PhD, participated in a working meeting of the international team, which jointly submits the application to the H2020 Program. The meeting took place at Universität Bremen, Technologie-Zentrum Informatik und Informationstechnik.

The Department of Information Technology hosted Ms. Yun Freund, vice president of the American company EQUINIX from Sunnyvale in California, and two representatives of the Polish branch of this company in Warsaw. Prof. Cellary presented the current research topic and achievements of the DIT. The guests also visited the Virtual Reality Lab.

The Department of Information Technology hosted representatives of the AMICA SA Management Board. headed by the President of the Board, Mr. Marcin Bilik. The guests visited the InnoUEP laboratories: Virtual Reality Lab and Internet of Things Lab. In InnoUEP laboratories are implementing projects ordered by AMICA Wronki. In the presentation participated also four WIGE students who presented their projects as a result of student internships in InnoUEP laboratories.

The Department of Information Technology hosted prof. Baiba Savrina from the University of Riga with a group of four students. The guests visited the Virtual Reality Lab and participated in the lecture of prof. Wojciech Cellary on bitcoin, delivered in English as part of the Electronic Commerce and Business subject for foreign students participating in the ERASMUS+ Program.

December 5 - 7, 2018

Jakub Flotyński, PhD, participated in The 8th International Conference on 3D Immersion IC3D 2018, which took place in Brussels from 5 to 7 December 2018. The IC3D conference was part of the scientific and business event STEREoPSIA, gattering scientific conferences, expert panels, exhibitions and presentations of the latest achievements of 3D / XR / AI technology. Jakub Flotyński presented a paper entitled "Logging Interactions in Explorable VR / AR Applications" (authors: Jakub Flotyński and this year's WIGE graduate Paweł Sobociński).

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the meeting of the Council for Informatisation of Education, an advisory body to the Minister of National Education. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Education in Warsaw.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary delivered an invited lecture entitled "Current digital challenges: banks and fintechs, bitcoins and block chains" for the participants of the conference "Banking in the face of the challenges of the open digital market", organized in Piła by the Banking Advisory and Education Center in Poznań.
