Welcome to the Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 14 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer and 8 research assistants. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. May 19 - 22, 2019

Dominik Strugała, MSc, participated in the international conference MANUFACTURING 2019, which took place at the Poznan University of Technology. Dominik Strugała presented at the conference a lecture entitled “Virtual and Augmented Reality for Configuring, Promoting and Servicing Household Appliances” (authors: Walczak, K., J. Flotyński, D. Strugała, D. Rumiński, M. Maik, A. Englert, and T. Jenek).

May 13 - 17, 2019

Dariusz Rumiński, PhD, participated in a week-long training “Effective Lecturing Skills in English”, as a part of the project "Improving the teaching competences of academic teachers at the Poznań University of Economics and Business". The training took place in London at the Regent's University of London.

On the occasion of the celebration of the PUEB Day, prof. Jacek Chmielewski received the Medal of the National Education Commission, awarded by the Minister of National Education for outstanding didactic achievements.

May 14, 2019

Prof. Wojciech Cellary gave a lecture entitled "Economy 4.0" for the participants of the seminar of the project "Socio-economic consequences of the fourth industrial revolution", carried out by the University of Economics in Krakow under the direction of prof. Jerzy Hausner. Prof. Cellary was also invited to join a team of Reviewers of the results of the project.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the conference "Shaping competencies in the digital economy", which took place on May 8, 2019 at the University of Economics in Wrocław, as part of the Open Eyes Economy on Tour 2019 cycle. Prof. Cellary gave a lecture on "The Formative Importance of Programming in Management Education".

April 25 - 26, 2019

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 3rd International Conference on Finance and Economic Policy (ICOFEP) - New Economy and New Economics, which took place at the Poznań University of Economics and Business on 25 and 26 April 2019. Prof. Cellary served as a member of the Program Committee of the ICOFEP conference, he also took part in one of the sessions as a panelist.

April 11 - 12, 2019

Dr hab. Eng. Krzysztof Walczak, participated as an independent expert of the European Commission in the review of the CONTENT4ALL H2020 project. The session took place in Biel (Switzerland).

April 8 - 9, 2019

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The World Summit on the Information Society International Forum under the theme "Information and Communication Technologies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals". The WSIS Forum took place in Geneva. Prof. Cellary was invited to participate in the WSIS Forum by the President of the Office of Electronic Communications, a Polish regulatory authority responsible for telecommunications and postal activities, frequency resources management and compliance with the criteria related to electromagnetic compatibility. As part of the Forum, there was a workshop "Emerging technologies in how to maximize benefits for societies and economies", during which prof. Cellary presented a lecture entitled "Teaching for Economy 4.0".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 4th National Conference for Teachers and School Directors "School in the Cloud - building digital skills in the 21st century". The conference took place in Gniezno n/Poznań. Prof. Cellary gave an invited lecture entitled "Challenges for education in the time of Economy 4.0 development".

Dr hab. Eng. Jarogniew Rykowski, participated in the scientific conference "Innovation in the employment of people with disabilities", organized by the State Fund for Rehabilitation of the Disabled and Poznań University of Economics and Business. Prof. Rykowski delivered a lecture entitled "Ad-hoc services for disabled people in a smart city using Bluetooth".
