The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. April 11 - 12, 2019

Dr hab. Eng. Krzysztof Walczak, participated as an independent expert of the European Commission in the review of the CONTENT4ALL H2020 project. The session took place in Biel (Switzerland).

April 8 - 9, 2019

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The World Summit on the Information Society International Forum under the theme "Information and Communication Technologies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals". The WSIS Forum took place in Geneva. Prof. Cellary was invited to participate in the WSIS Forum by the President of the Office of Electronic Communications, a Polish regulatory authority responsible for telecommunications and postal activities, frequency resources management and compliance with the criteria related to electromagnetic compatibility. As part of the Forum, there was a workshop "Emerging technologies in how to maximize benefits for societies and economies", during which prof. Cellary presented a lecture entitled "Teaching for Economy 4.0".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 4th National Conference for Teachers and School Directors "School in the Cloud - building digital skills in the 21st century". The conference took place in Gniezno n/Poznań. Prof. Cellary gave an invited lecture entitled "Challenges for education in the time of Economy 4.0 development".

Dr hab. Eng. Jarogniew Rykowski, participated in the scientific conference "Innovation in the employment of people with disabilities", organized by the State Fund for Rehabilitation of the Disabled and Poznań University of Economics and Business. Prof. Rykowski delivered a lecture entitled "Ad-hoc services for disabled people in a smart city using Bluetooth".

Prof. Wojciech Cellary delivered the invited lecture entitled "Economy 4.0" for participants of the networking and training meeting organized cyclically for innovative enterprises by the Poznan Science and Technology Park Foundation of the Adam Mickiewicz University.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in the 13th Teachers' Forum - Economy 4.0, organized by the College of Logistics in Poznań from 21 - 22 February 2019. The aim of the conference was to look for ways to improve the quality of logistic education in secondary schools. Prof. Wojciech Cellary delivered the invited lecture entitled "Logists in the economy 4.0".

February 13 - 15, 2019

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 6th International Conference on Advances in Management Sciences ICAMS 2019, which took place in Milan. Prof. Cellary served as a Conference Program Chair, he gave also a keynote speech entitled „T-Shape Education a Way to Prepare Managers for Emerging Cyber-Physical World”.

Results of the 20th edition of the Golden Mouse Contest announced! The contest was addressed to the 1st year students of the Faculty of Informatics and Electronic Economy. The purpose of the contest was to reward the best business project that promotes use of new Internet and mobile technologies in the business process chain. The main criteria of the evaluation were: business model, use of new technologies for organization and management transformation, quality of design. The prizes were founded by the Santander Bank Polska in the framework of Santander Universidades Program. The results were announced during the reward ceremony conducted by Prof. Wojciech Cellary, in the presence of representatives of the Santander Bank Polska and PUEB autorities: Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Electronic Economy, prof. Krzysztof Malaga, and Ms. Katarzyna Szuman, PUEB Marketing Department. The First Prize went to the team Arkadiusz Psurski and Eryk Rutkowski for a project Simply Lawyer. Congratulations!!!

Krzysztof Walczak, PhD, and Jakub Flotyński, PhD, received an invitation to organize a Workshop "Semantic 3D" as part of the conference The 40th Annual Conference of the European Association for Computer Graphics EUROGRPHICS 2019 EG 2019. The conference will be held in Genoa from May 6 to May 10, 2019, The main organizer of EG 2019 is IMATI CNR - Istituto di Matematica Applicata e Tecnologie Informatiche, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche.
