The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 14 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer and 8 research assistants. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. Prof. Wojciech Cellary has been invited to join a Steering Committee of The United Nations Global Compact Network Poland. UN Global Compact is a platform for business and non-business entities to proactively network and engage in areas of human rights, labour, environment, anti-corruption and contributing to UN goals in order to achieve the common objectives of building a sustainable and inclusive global economy. The main objectives of the Steering Committee are to promote Global Compact and corporate social responsibility as well as to encourage companies to accept and put into practice the principles of Global Compact. The Steering Committee also implements joint projects to solve specific problems in various social areas.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary attended The 2nd International Conference on The Human Side of Service Engineering HSSE 2014, which took place in Kraków (Poland) from July 19 to July 23, 2014, under The 5th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics AHFE 2014 umbrella. Prof. Cellary served as a General Co-Chair of the HSSE 2014 Conference.

July 7 - 9, 2014

Mr. Dariusz Rumiński participated in The 5th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications IISA 2014, which took place in Chania Crete (Greece) from July 7 to July 9, 2014. During the conference Mr. Rumiński presented a paper entitled „Composing Augmented Reality Scene with the CARL Language” (authors: Rumiński, D., K. Walczak).

Mr. Dariusz Rumiński attended an international conference The 21st International Science Conference on Computer Networks CN 2014, which was held in Brunow n/Lwowek. During a Special Sessions Day Mr. Dariusz Rumiński presented a paper entitled “Generating User Interfaces for XML Schema Documents with a Presentation Language” (authors: Rumiński, D, K. Walczak, and J. Chmielewski).

Adam Wójtowicz, PhD, participated in The 7th International Conference on Computational Intelligence in Security for Information Systems CISIS 2014, which took place in Bilbao (Spain), June 25 - 27, 2014. Dr. Adam Wójtowicz presented a paper entitled "Mining in Dynamically Composed Scripted 3D Scenes for Better Access Control – Computational Evaluation”.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 18th Conference "Cities on Internet - Metamorphose of Public Space - Administration, Education, Health" organized in Gdańsk by Cities on Internet Association. Prof. Cellary gave an invited lecture "Cloud computing as a new digital impetus to the administration". He participated also in a panel discussion "Key projetcs and digital initiatives for Poland development - vision and reality".

Mr. Zbigniew Paszkiewicz defended successfuly his PhD thesis entitled “Recommendation methods RMV for partner and service selection in virtual organizations breeding environments based on process mining techniques”. The public defence of the dissertation took place at the Gdańsk University of Technology, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. The PhD thesis was written under the supervision of Prof. Wojciech Cellary.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated as a special guest in VI Forum of Cooperative Banking Technologies which was held in Warsaw. The conference was organized by The Polish Bank Association and Center for Banking Law and Information under the patronage of the Minister of Economy. During the conference prof. Cellary gave an invited lecture "Cloud computing in cooperative banking". He participated also in a panel discussion on a cloud security and protection.

Mr. Zbigniew Paszkiewicz participated in The 2nd European BPM Round Table “Business Process Management – Driving Innovation in a Digital World”, which took place on May, 15th, 2014 at the University of Liechtenstein in Vaduz. The objective of the European BPM Round Table is the exchange of knowledge and experience between experts from business, administration, and science on a European level. Mr. Paszkiewicz received from organizers a grant covering costs of participation in the event.
