Welcome to the Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 14 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer and 8 research assistants. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. November 15 - 19, 2010

The Department of Information Technology hosted Mr. Tuomo Helo, M.Sc,  from the Turku University of Applied Sciences in Finland. Mr. Helo visited the Department of Information Technology in the framework of Erasmus Teaching Staff Mobility Program. Tuomo Helo is a lecturer in IT and SAP Certified Business Associate with SAP ERP. During his visit he gave a series of lectures entitled "Enterprise Resource Planning Systems", combined with practical workshops using the SAP ERP system.

November 7 - 10, 2010

Dr. Wojciech Wiza participated in The 12th International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services iiWAS2010, which took place in Gennevilliers near Paris from November 8th to November 10th, 2010. Dr. Wiza presented a paper entitled „XMLGuide: an Open Format Language for Audio Guide”. 

November 1 - 9, 2010

Prof. Wojciech Cellary i Dr. Jacek Chmielewski participated in The 10th IFIP Conference on e-Business, e-Services and e-Society I3E 2010, which was held in Buenos Aires (Argentina) from November 3rd to November 5th, 2010. Prof. Wojciech Cellary served as a Program Committee Co-Chair and Steering Committee Chair of the conference I3E 2010. He was also editor of the conference proceedings published by Springer. Dr. Jacek Chmielewski presented a paper entitled „Mobile Interfaces for Building Control Surveyors” (authors: Chmielewski, J., K. Walczak, W. Wiza), he served also as a Publication Chair.

October 23 - 29, 2010

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 4th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance ICEGOV 2010, which took place in Beijing (China) from October 25 to October 28, 2010. During the conference prof. Cellary gave a tutorial entitled „Electronic Governance Impact”.

October 21, 2010

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated as a member in a working session of the Research Council of the Institut Télécom SudParis, which was held in Paris on October 21st.

October 20, 2010

Prof. Wojciech Cellary has been invited to visit Institut Télécom TIC et Santé Université Montpellier 2 (Montpellier, France). Prof. Cellary gave an invited lecture entitled „Towards Knowledge-Based Economy”.Ha gave also an interview for local TV.

October 10 - 14, 2010

Dr Willy Picard and Zbigniew Paszkiewicz participated in The 11th IFIP Working Conference on Virtual Enterprises PRO-VE 2010, which was held in Saint Etienne (France) from October 11th to October 13th, 2010. Dr Picard presented a paper entitled „Social Service Brokerage based on UDDI and Social Requirements” (authors: W. Picard, J. Świerzowicz). Mr Paszkiewicz presented a paper "MAPSS, a Multi-Aspect Partner and Service Selection Method” (authors: Z. Paszkiewicz, W. Picard).

Prof. Wojciech Cellary chaired first working session of the Program Council of the EU Ministerial Conference 2011 which will be held in Poland in the framework of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. Prof. Cellary has been invited to serve as a Chair by Polish Minister of Interior and Administration.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary has been invited by Polish Minister of Interior and Administration to serve as a General Chair of the Program Council of the EU Ministerial Conference 2011 which will be held in Poland in the framework of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. The main topic of the Conference 2011 will be focused on electronic administration.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in The 14th East-European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems ADBIS 2010 which took place in Novi Sad (Serbia) from September 20 to September 24, 2010. Prof. Cellary gave a keynote talk entitled "Paid Content a Way to Electronic Knowledge-Based Economy".
