Welcome to the Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is part of the Faculty of Informatics and e-Economy of the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The Department is composed of 12 members: 1 full professor, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer, 5 research assistants and 1 administrative person. The Department also takes care of 2 Ph.D. students. The research members have technical qualifications in computer science and engineering. The head of DIT is Professor Krzysztof Walczak. April 30, 2010

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in Warsaw in a debate of experts invited by the Board of Strategic Advisors do the Prime Minister. The experts discussed on the role of digital technologies in teleinformatics and media in a time perspective of one generation – in about 20 years’ time – 2030.

April 27 - 28, 2010

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a two-days discussion devoted to the programme Electronic Public Services Platform ePUAP, an initiative developped by the Ministry of Interior and Administration. The meeting was held in Serock near Warsaw.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary chaired a working session of the Council for Informatization, an advisory body to the Minister of Interior and Administration. Prof. Cellary has been serving as a President of the Council since December 2009.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary, Dr Wojciech Wiza, and Dr Rafal Wojciechowski gave a presentation for a staff of the Department of State Patronage of  the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The presentation was devoted to the ARCO software for virtual museum exhibition development.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a working session of the Research Council of The Institute Telecom Paris. The main topic of the session was Internet of Things.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary participated in a regional conference on Innovation Strategy in Lubuskie Region, which was held in Zielona Gora. Prof. Cellary gave an invited lecture “Innovation and science does not mean the same”.

Dr Krzysztof Walczak received a habilitation degree from The Gdańsk University of Technology upon a habilitation thesis entitled "Configurable Virtual Reality Applications".

March 22 - 26, 2010

Dr Wojciech Wiza has been invited to work as a visiting researcher at The University of Sussex (Falmer, Brighton) in the framework of a project "Re-animating Cultural Heritage" realized jointly by The University of Sussex and Poznan University of Economics.
