XXIII Golden Mouse Competition
The XXIII Golden Mouse Competition organized by the Department of Information Technology of the Institute of Computer Science and Quantitative Economics has been concluded. The competition held for 23 years is currently sponsored by Santander within the Santander Universidades program.
56 first-year students took part in the competition. The task was to prepare in two-person teams professional business projects using the latest information technologies. The task consisted of four stages: investor, business, technical, and design. Projects were prepared in the form of a concise business plan, website implementation, and presentation in PowerPoint format. The students were supervised by Dominik Strugała, M.Sc. while the chairman of the Competition Committee was Prof. Krzysztof Walczak.
The ceremony of announcing the results of the competition took place on February 18, 2022, remotely on the Zoom platform. The ceremony was attended by the Manager of the Outpost of Santander Universidades in Poznan: Karolina Nyl-Staniewicz. The University was represented by Vice-Rector for Education and Students Prof. Anna Gliszczyńska-Świgło, Director of the Institute of Informatics and Quantitative Economics Prof. Krzysztof Malaga, Director of Studies in Informatics and Economic Analysis Prof. Elżbieta Rychłowska-Musiał, Head of the Department of Information Technology Prof. Krzysztof Walczak and Ms. Karolina Szuman from the PUEB Team for Cooperation with the Business Environment. The Poznan University of Economics Foundation was represented by the President of the Board Marek Zielinski, and Vice-President Marek Gnusowski.
The first place took the team of Aleksandra Benowska and Martyna Kuś for the project "GoneCarbon - a mobile application with a calculator of the carbon footprint produced by users" and were awarded Huion Kamvas 12 graphics tablets. The second place took the team of Laura Lis and Magdalena Kociuba who were awarded Huawei Watch GT smartwatches. Third place was taken by the team of Kaja Skiba and Natalia Marszał and they were awarded SteelSeries Arctis 5 wired headphones. Three teams - Małgorzata Talaga and Alan Celmerowski, Joanna Klupczyńska and Wiktoria Pawlak, Antoni Forycki and Mikołaj Czaplejewicz - got special mentions and received UEP gadgets.
