The Department of Information Technology hosted Dr. Benjamin Gâteau, Senior R&D Engineer at the Public Research Centre Henri Tudor in Luxembourg. During the visit Dr. Gâteau has been working together with Dr. Jarogniew Rykowski on a common proposal to be submitted in the framework of the POLLUX Program, launched by The National Research Fund (FNR) in Luxembourg and the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) in Poland.

Prof. Krzysztof Walczak particpated as an independent expert of European Commission in an evaluation of proposals submitted to FP 7 Objective 1.6 ICT - Connected and Social Media, Call 10. The session took place in Brussels in EC premises.

The Department of Information Technology organized a ceremony of giving certificates for successful completion of the Cisco iExec Business Essential Program by students of the specialization Electronic Business, atttending a course Electronic Economy conducted by prof. Wojciech Cellary (lectures) and Mr. Zbigniew Paszkiewicz (labs). The Poznan University of Economics as a Cisco Local Institute provides students with the most recent versions of the Course Material from the Cisco Entrepreneur Institute Learning Environment. The iExec Business Essentials program provides ICT-related business education that helps to develop new strategies to transform business through the strategic use of IT and Internet applications and teaches students how to develop business plans for an effective IT business deployment. The certificates were distributed by Vice Rector for Students and Education, prof. Jacek Mizerka, and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Elelctronic Economy, prof. Dorota Appenzeller. The ceremony was conducted by prof. Wojciech Cellary.

A team of DIT's reaserchers: Wojciech Cellary, Krzysztof Walczak, Jacek Chmielewski, Wojciech Wiza, Rafał Wojciechowski, and Adam Wójtowicz was given a Team Award of the Rector of the Poznan University of Economics for outstanding achievement in research - for a book "Interactive 3D Multimedia Content. Models for Creation, Management, Search and Presentation" (Cellary, W., K. Walczak - eds.), Springer Verlag, 2012.

Prof. Wojciech Cellary presented a seminar entitled Software research towards future eGovernment for students and staff of the International Institute for Software Technology of the United Nations University in Macau (Chiny).
